Edit a Preconfigured Patient Discharge Instruction
The Patient Discharge Instructions panel allows you to edit the patient discharge instructions. Click Category and select a category from the list. The pre-configured discharge instructions associated with the selected procedure and category appear in the grid. Highlight a row in the grid. The selected discharge instruction appears in the Discharge Instructions field. Make relevant changes to the discharge instruction. Patient Discharge Instructions Click Add. The updated discharge instruction appears in the Today's Discharge Instructions grid. You can also edit the patient discharge instructions in the Today's Discharge Instructions grid. Modify the Patient Discharge Instructions
Click Specialty and select a specialty from the list. Click the Patient Discharge Instructions option. (Optional) Select a Procedure and Category. The grid displays the pre-configured discharge instructions associated with the selected procedure and category. Highlight a row in the Patient Discharge Instructions grid. The selected discharge instruction appears in the Discharge Instruction field. Make relevant changes to the discharge instruction. Click Update. The modified discharge instruction is updated in the Patient Discharge Instructions grid. Note: If you attempt to edit a patient discharge instruction that has a value in the Required field, an alert ask you appears to confirm your changes. Remove a Patient Discharge Instruction
Click Specialty and select a specialty from the list. Click the Patient Discharge Instructions option. (Optional) Select a Procedure and Category. The grid displays the pre-configured discharge instructions associated with the selected procedure and category. Highlight a row in the grid. Click Remove. The selected discharge instruction is removed from the grid. Note: If you attempt to remove a patient discharge instruction that has a value in the Required field, an alert message appears to confirm. Add New Patient Discharge Instructions
You can add new discharge instructions if the pre-configured discharge instructions are not applicable for selection. The Procedure field displays the procedure selected in the Procedure panel on the ASC - Intake template. Note: In the Procedure Orders and Discharge Instructions practice template, select the Do not allow add on 1-click check box at the bottom of the Patient Discharge Instructions grid to hide the Add all Discharge Instructions to Today's Discharge Instructions on 1-click check box and Add Discharge Instructions to Today's Discharge Instructions on 1-click check boxes on the Patient Discharge Instructions panel. Click Category and select a category from the list. The pre-configured discharge instructions associated with the selected procedure and category appear in the grid. As you select an instruction in the grid, the selected instruction moves into the Today's Discharge Instructions grid. Patient Discharge Instructions After you add the required discharge instructions to the Today's Discharge Instructions grid, clear the Add Discharge Instruction to Today's Discharge Instructions on 1-click check box. To add all the discharge instructions in the Today's Discharge Instructions grid, select the Add all Discharge Instructions to Today's Discharge Instructions on 1-click check box. Configure Patient Discharge Instructions
You can configure the discharge instructions for a specific procedure to appear in the run-time Patient Discharge Instructions panel on the ASC - Postprocedure template. From Specialty, select a specialty to configure the discharge instructions. Select Patient Discharge Instructions. To configure patient discharge instruction for a specific procedure, click the Procedure field and select a procedure from the list. The list includes a list of procedures configured for the specialty in the Procedure Config practice template. From Category, select a category to associate with the discharge instruction. If the options in the list are not relevant, double-click the top-blank row in the list and enter a new category in the Category field. The newly added category is available in the Category list for the next discharge instruction documentation. Enter the reason for discharge in the Required field.
