Document in the 18 - 20 Week EDD Update Panel

Expand the 18-20 Week Update panel, if desired and if appropriate during the initial prenatal visit. This panel is sometimes used for patients who have not had sonograms during their pregnancy. 18-20 Week Update panel Select a date from the Quickening Date field. Select the +20 or +22 option, depending on whether the patient is a multiparous patient or not. Select the Assign quickening date to Adjusted (provider) EDD date field option if this date should be used to determine the EDD. The EDD date is calculated accordingly and updated in the Initial/Working EDD field. Select a date from the Fundal ht. at umbil Date field. Select the +20 option if this is the first pregnancy. Select the Assign fundal height date to Adjusted (provider) EDD date field option if this EDD should be used to determine the EDD. Document General UDS Reporting

The General (UDS Reporting) panel enables you to collect the first prenatal and multiple gestation information. Open the Gestational Age-Obstetrics template. Expand the General (UDS Reporting) panel, if you are required, or if you desire, to collect this information. General (UDS Reporting Select the First, Second, or Third option from the First prenatal visit trimester section. This indicates which trimester the patient initially presented for prenatal care, even if the patient did not present to your practice first. Select the first prenatal visit date from the First prenatal visit field. Select the Here option or Elsewhere option to specify where the first prenatal visit was performed. Select an option in the Multiple gestation section to indicate whether this pregnancy is a singleton pregnancy or not. EDD Edit Log Template

The EDD Edit Log panel helps you view the edit log and audit details of Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD). Your first EDD entry for a patient is not displayed on the EDD Edit Log panel until you view the same on the Retired EDD Log panel. However, the subsequent updates that either you or any another user makes on the Estimated Date of Delivery panel for the same patient is displayed on the EDD Edit Log panel automatically. View Information in the Gestational Age Template

The Gestational Age template header displays the patient’s gravidity and parity, the initial/working estimated date of delivery (EDD), the working estimated gestational age (working EGA), the blood type and Rh, and the risk level. You can only view this information and can edit only the risk level. The Diagnostics Detail link opens a template on which in-office official sonogram results can be documented, if needed. Document the Last Menstrual Period

Select the Gestational Age tab. The Gestational Age- Obstetrics template opens. Expand the Estimated Date of Delivery panel. In the LMP field enter the LMP, if not entered. An EDD automatically displays to the right of the LMP field. The Consistent with LMP option is selected as the calculation method for the EDD. This EDD displays in the Initial/Working EDD field. Also, the EGA is automatically calculated and displays in the EGA this encounter field. Select the Definite, Approximate (month known), or Unknown option in the LMP section. Note: In most practices, the intake staff enters this information and the provider would confirm or edit this information. The NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine calculates an EDD using sonogram results, initial exam, date of conception, or date of in vitro fertilization (IVF). Gestational Age Template

The Gestational Age panel enables you to document the necessary information about gestational age so that it is possible to determine the Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD). Note: NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine calculates the EGA (Estimated Gestational Age) based on the LMP date provided in the Gestational Age template . The gestational age for each encounter recalculates automatically and fills in the appropriate templates. The system recalculates the gestational age after each encounter and fills in the appropriate template. Note: The OB Gestational Orders template is integrated in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine workflow. You can access the OB Gestational Orders template from Prenatal Detail > Order Labs > OBGYN Lab Master > Labs > Orders by Gestational Week. The lab results fills the Order Management template, OBGYN Lab Master template, or the Order Module. You can document the necessary information to estimate the Expected Delivery Date (EDD) on the Gestational Age template.
