Components of the Prenatal Detail - Obstetrics Template

You can document the necessary information about prenatal encounters and review data from previous encounters to ensure safe and effective care for a pregnant woman and her baby on the Prenatal Detail - Obstetrics template. The following panels enable you to document the necessary information during a prenatal visit: General OB Problems Prenatal Visits Assessment/Plan Orders Diagnostic Studies The obstetric group of panels are used for orders: Initial Orders 24-28 Week Orders 32-37 Week Orders Genetic Screening and Testing Maternal Carrier Screening Fetal (Aneuploidy) Chromosomal Testing Ultrasound Orders Optional Orders You can view telephone calls and other communications outside of visits in the Communication panel. Order Labs in the Prenatal Detail Tab

Open the Prenatal Detail tab. Select the Order Labs link. The OBGYN Lab Master template opens. OBGYN Lab Master Template The OBGYN Lab Master template is part of a group of templates that use the last assessment or diagnosis selected on any of the templates in the group as the working assessment. The system defaults to the current working assessment. If required, you can select another assessment, which becomes the new working assessment that carries forward to the other templates in the group. OB Provider Workflow

The provider workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves reviewing the information documented by the intake staff and proceeding with the patient encounter by documenting information on the Prenatal Detail and SOAP templates. On the first visit, open the Gestational Age template must be opened and verify the due date. Reviewing Obstetrics Details by Providers A provider can start the visit by reviewing the patient information documented during the previous patient encounters on the Home Page template for the Obstetrics specialty. Obstetrics Home Page Template You can review the historical information of the patient on the Home Page - Obstetrics template. Patient Tracking in the Provider Workflow You can update the patient tracking details using the Patient Tracking on the Patient Information Card (PIC). Enter Information in the Estimated Date of Delivery panel in the Gestational Age Tab

Open the Gestational Age tab. Open the Estimated Date of Delivery panel. Select the LMP field and select a prior date that is at least 3 months before date from the encounter date. Select the Ultrasound 1 field and select a prior date of at least 1 month before date from the encounter date. Enter the days or weeks in the Ultrasound window. Select the Ultrasound 2 field and select a date between LMP and Ultrasound 1 date. Enter the days or weeks in the Ultrasound window. Select the Use a final EDD check box. OB Test Name Configuration

The OB Test Name Configuration template comprises two panels, OB Group and OB Test Name. The OB Group names present on the template are available as obstetric group panels on the Prenatal Detail template. The obstetric group of panels are: Initial Orders 24-28 Week Orders 32-37 Week Orders Genetic Screening and Testing Maternal Carrier Screening Fetal (Aneuploidy) Chromosomal Testing Ultrasound Orders Optional Orders You can configure the obstetric lab test name, test code, and test description. The configured obstetric lab test names appear in the respective obstetric group panel. Access OB Test Name Configuration You can access the OB Test Name configuration template from the File menu. Review 24-28 Week Orders

The Obtained Interval range is based on the prenatal details available on the Gestational Age template template. You can place orders for the tests in this panel within the date range mentioned. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a female adult patient record, and then create an encounter. On the Intake template, and then select the specialty as Obstetrics and visit type as OB Prenatal. On the Prenatal Detail template, expand the 24-28 Week Orders panel. The lab orders associated with the Obtained Interval date range appears in the grid. This date range is based on the details mentioned on the Gestational Age template. 24-28 Week Orders Double-click the test name to place the order through Historical Test - Quick Entry template. To review a single lab order result, do the following: Select the row where the lab order result is available. The Edit Test Interval window opens.
