Document Tuberculin Skin Test

The Tuberculin Skin Test is a common method to determine tuberculosis. This test determines whether a person has been infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis by measuring the body's immune response to TB has been stimulated.
  1. Open Intake - Dermatology template.
  2. Expand the Orders panel and click Tuberculin Skin Test.
    The Tuberculin Skin Test template opens.
  3. In the Risk assessment section, document the BCG immunization and country of origin details.
  4. To document additional details on the risk assessment, click TB Risk Assessment.
  5. Select an appropriate diagnosis from the Today's Assessment grid or add an assessment.
    1. To add an assessment, click Add Tuberculin Skin Test Assessment.
    2. Select the appropriate diagnosis from the resulting window.
      The selected diagnosis is added to Today's Assessment grid.
  6. In the Orders section, do the following:
    1. Select the type of order.
    2. Fill in the details in the appropriate fields.
    3. Click Place Order.
      If you have selected PPD as the type of order, then the order is placed and available in the Tuberculin Skin Test grid. If you have selected Chest X-ray as the type of order, then the order is placed and available in the Chest X-rays grid.
  7. In the Plan section, select the appropriate check boxes regarding when the patient returns for examination.
  8. Click Place Order.
    The order is placed on the Order Management template.
