Set Up Disclosure Statements for SAMHSA
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select the Practice tab. In the Show section, select All. A list of practice level templates appears. Select Practice Configuration, and then select OK. The Practice Configuration template opens. In the SAMHSA CFR 42 section, select the form of disclosure statement for documents and reports to display. SAMHSA section in the Practice Configuration template Selecting either of the disclosure statements also configures the Record contains substance use disorder information check box to appear on the encounter level templates. Select Save and Close at the top of the template. Substance Use Disorder Disclosure in Documents and Reports
You can include the disclosure for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) 42 CFR Part 2 provisions in the generated documents and reports. If your practice provides treatment for substance use disorder, you have to include the long form or short form of disclosure for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) 42 CFR Part 2 provisions in the generated documents and reports. You need to configure the Record contains substance use disorder information check box on encounter level templates by selecting the long form or short form of disclosure on the Practice Configuration practice template. The check box appears on the Intake, Histories, SOAP, Finalize, and Checkout templates. Documenting Patient Encounters for Dermatology Visits
The Dermatology User Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine provides the guidelines for conducting a comprehensive patient encounter in the Dermatology specialty. During Dermatology patient encounters, you can use various features that are designed to streamline your workflows and improve your data captures. The intake staff checks in the patient on the Intake and Histories templates. If required, the intake staff can review the patient's details documented in the previous encounters on the Home Page template. The provider can choose to review the patient's historical information documented in the previous encounters on the Home Page template or review the Intake Note document generated by the intake staff.
