Document a Patient’s Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) History

You can document the sexually transmitted infection history of a patient.

1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
2. To open the confidential templates, do one of the following:
   • In the Social panel on the Histories template, select the Confidential History link.
   • In the History Summary panel on the Intake template, select the Confidential link.
   The Confidential - Alcohol/Drug template opens displaying the links to the confidential templates, in the left pane.
3. Select Sexual Practices/STIs.
   The Confidential - Sexual Practices/STIs template opens.

   

4. In the STI section, select the HIV status.
   • If you select Negative or Positive, enter the date the patient is tested.

   If you select Positive for HIV status, you can document additional information, such as AIDS, treatment, and source of transmission.

5. Enter the patient's history of STIs and risk factors for STIs.
6. Select OK.
