Document Psychiatric Information

You can document the psychiatric health information of a patient on the Confidential – Psychiatric template.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. To open the confidential templates, do one of the following:
    • In the Social panel on the Histories template, select the Confidential History link.
    • In the History Summary panel on the Intake template, select the Confidential link.
    The Confidential - Alcohol/Drug template opens displaying the links to the confidential templates, in the left pane.
  3. Select the Psychiatric link.
    Confidential Psychiatric

    The Confidential – Psychiatric template opens.
  4. Select the appropriate option for History of suicidal thoughts, History of homicidal thoughts, and Diagnosed with psychiatric problem.
  5. If available, enter the name and phone number of the psychiatrist and therapist.
  6. Indicate the patient's consent for communication between the psychiatrist and PCP.
  7. Indicate the patient's consent for communication between the therapist and PCP.
    • If you select Yes, select the Yes or No option to indicate if the documentation is on file.
  8. Indicate if there is any family history of psychiatric problems.
    • If you select Yes, select the psychiatric problem and indicate the patient's relation with the family member.
  9. Select OK.
