You can add multiple interventions to a single goal. To add multiple interventions, repeat this procedure for each intervention to be added.
From the navigation bar, click Care Plan.
The Care Plan template appears.
Navigate to the Goals, Interventions and Outcomes panel.
The Select a Health concern to document grid is populated with all previously identified health concerns.
Select a health concern from the list.
The selected health concern appears in the Health Concern field and the data entry fields for goals appear to the right.
Select the goal that you are adding an intervention for.
The selected goal appears in the Goal field and data for the selected goal populates the data entry fields to the right.
Click the Interventions tab.
The full Interventions tab appears.
The selected goal appears in the Goal field.
The Category defaults to Procedure and the data entry field below defaults to Procedure.
If necessary, select a different Category.
The data entry field changes based on the selected option:
For Planned Procedure, the field remains Procedure.
For Nutrition Recommendation, the field becomes Recommendation.
For Immunization Activity, the field becomes Immunization.
For Medication Activity, the field becomes Medication.
For Instructions, the field is not displayed.
Click the data entry field, if displayed, and select from the displayed list:
For Procedure, displays a list of all procedures currently recorded in the Procedure module for the patient.
For Planned Procedure, displays a list of all procedures currently scheduled for the patient.
For Nutrition Recommendation, displays a list of all current, diet-related orders for the patient.
For Immunization Activity, displays a list of all vaccines ordered for the patient.
For Medication Activity, displays a list of all active medications ordered for the patient prior to or during the current encounter.
For Instructions, the field is not displayed and you should enter instructions in the Intervention field.
Type a description of the intervention in the Intervention field.
You can also click the Common Phrases link above the field and select from the list of interventions filtered for the selected health concern.
Note: The Common Phrases link uses the Care Plan Custom DBpicklist to present common phrases for intervention. While your system is delivered with a basic set of phrases, you may want to add your own intervention phrases for specific health concerns to the Care Plan Custom DBpicklist. Click the Status field and select the status from the displayed list that most closely describes the current state of the intervention.
Click the Start field and select the date on which the intervention is to begin.
Click the Frequency field and select the frequency from the displayed list that indicates how often the intervention is to be reviewed.
Click the Next review field and select the date on which the next review is to occur.
Optionally, type descriptive text in the Interventions progress field.
Click Add.
The system adds the newly-created intervention to the Select an Intervention to document grid.
