Configure a Medication Procedure Order

On the Procedure Order & Discharge Instruction practice template, you can configure medication procedure orders for a specific specialty and procedure.

  1. To configure specialty-specific procedure orders, click Specialty and select a Specialty from the list.
    The grid populates with the procedure orders pre-configured for the selected specialty.

    The Procedure Order option is selected by default.

  2. To configure medication procedure orders for a specific procedure, click the Procedures field and select a procedure from the list. The list includes a list of procedures configured for the specialty in the Procedure Config practice template.
  3. Click Type to select a type of order.
  4. Click Category to select a category or stage to associate with the procedure orders.
  5. Select Medication Procedure Order.

  6. To map a medication procedure order with a medication entry the run-time Documentation Log panel:
    1. Select Map to Documentation Log.
    2. Click the following fields and select the appropriate value from the corresponding list:
      • Entry Type
      • Category
      • Medication
  7. Click Add.
    The documented data appears in the grid.
  8. To view the medication procedure orders that have an invalid NDC, select the Show all medications with status deleted check box above the grid.
    The grid filters the data to display the medications with the value Deleted in the Status column.

    If you select the Do not allow add on 1-click check box, the system hides the Add to Today's Orders on 1-click and the Add all displayed to Today's Orders check boxes in the run-time Procedure Orders panel on the Ambulatory Surgery framework templates.

    In the run-time Procedure Orders panel, you need to select the Medications category to view the configured medication procedure orders.
