Document Vaccine Adverse Events
You can document the adverse effects of a vaccine. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Immunization - Adult template. In the Vaccine Adverse Event Report section, select Add. The Vaccine Adverse Event Report window opens. Vaccine Adverse Event Report To enter the details of the adverse event, do the following: Select the onset date and time of the adverse event. Enter the reaction to the administered substance. Select the appropriate check boxes to indicate the result of the patient's illness. Indicate where the vaccination is done. Indicate how the vaccine is purchased. Select the appropriate option to indicate the recovery of the patient. If the patient had any illness at the time of vaccination, enter the details. Enter the diagnostic test details, if any. Indicate whether any adverse event is reported previously. Enter the details of any family history of adverse events following vaccinations. Select OK. Add Vaccination Details of Adult Patients
You can document the vaccination details of an adult patient. To add the details of medications and allergies, you can double-click the data grid in the Medication and Allergies panels to open Medication and Allergies modules, respectively. You can use the Reconcile button to reconcile the history of immunizations provided to the patient at various practices and enterprises. If the patient has any medication or allergy related alerts, you can enter the alert information in the Alert field. You can also view the list of web links for additional information about immunizations. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Immunization - Adult template. Immunizations Data Reconcilation Workflow
To reconcile Immunizations data for a patient, refer to the following workflow example. Select a patient. Access the Immunizations tab in the Orders module. On the Immunizations tab toolbar, select the appropriate registry. Note: If a default registry is set up in File Maintenance, the registry is displayed, or you can select the appropriate registry from the list on the Immunizations tab toolbar. Select Reconcile. The system displays existing Immunizations data for the patient on the Clinical Reconciliation window of the Immunization tab. On the Clinical Reconciliation window: Review the Immunizations data and determine the data to add or update (“match”). Perform the matching process until you have reconciled all appropriate Immunizations data. To save your updates, select Confirm. On the Orders Summary tab, the new Immunizations data displays on the grid, including the order status. Accessing and Reconciling a Patient's Immunizations Data
To help your practice maintain accurate health information, keep immunization schedules current, perform catch up when necessary, and reconcile patients’ imported Immunizations data from registry with their current Immunizations data from the patient chart. By selecting Reconcile on the Immunizations tab, you can open the Clinical Reconciliation module from the Orders module. On the Clinical Reconciliation window, the imported Immunization data from registry and current Immunization data from patient chart display. You can then match registry data to existing NextGen® Enterprise EHR data. Once the match process is complete, you can view the reconciled immunization data on the Orders Summary tab and on the Immunizations Chart/Recommendation view. Print the Immunizations Summary Report
You can print information about all the immunizations a patient has received. You can print this report from the Immunizations tab. Note: The Immunizations Summary report appears in the format you selected when setting up the report (original format, CDC standard format, or Immunizations Detail format). Select Print on the Immunizations tab toolbar. Note: If you want to view the report before it prints, select the arrow next to the Print button and then select Print Preview. Select the printer where you want the report to print. When you print this report, the report is saved to the patient's chart within the associated encounter, and you can access the report from the Encounter History tab.
