Add Vaccination Details of Adult Patients

You can document the vaccination details of an adult patient.

To add the details of medications and allergies, you can double-click the data grid in the Medication and Allergies panels to open Medication and Allergies modules, respectively.

You can use the Reconcile button to reconcile the history of immunizations provided to the patient at various practices and enterprises. If the patient has any medication or allergy related alerts, you can enter the alert information in the Alert field. You can also view the list of web links for additional information about immunizations.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. Open the Immunization - Adult template.
  3. Select New on the Chart or Recommendations tab.

  4. If the desired vaccines are not available in the Select Vaccines section, select Search All.
    The Search Vaccines window opens.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • To search for only those vaccines in your practice's inventory, select the Search inventory only.
    • To display all vaccines matching the search criteria, select Search all vaccines.
  6. Enter the search criteria, and select Find.
    The search result appears in the grid.
  7. Select the desired vaccines, and then select OK.

  8. Do one of the following:
    • Select No To All Allergies, and select Save.
    • Select the appropriate option for the following, and select Save.
      • Neomycin
      • Egg
      • Latex
      • Gelatin
    The selected vaccines appear in the Assign Diagnosis to Selected Vaccines section on the Create New Immunization Order for ≤Current Patient≥ template.
  9. To open a template that displays potential interactions, select Check Interactions, and select OK.
  10. To discuss the selected immunizations with the patient, select the COUNSELED check box.
  11. If you do not want the administration of a vaccine that is typically a part of the schedule of the vaccine, select the vaccine, then select the EXCEPTION check box.
  12. On the Create New Immunization Order template, select the Vaccine Details tab.
  13. Select a vaccine, and enter the details.
  14. Do one of the following:
    • To save the vaccination details, select Save.
    • To save the vaccination details and assign the task to NextGen® Enterprise EHR Work Group, select Save & Task.
    • To save the vaccination details and print the Vaccine Information Sheet (VIS), select Save & Print.
    The details appear in the data grid in the Immunization - Adult template.
