Joint Injection Data Set Item

The Joint Injection data set item holds data for medication documentation and billing on the Joint Aspiration/Injection template. This data set is used to configure medications and billing units at the practice level. Adding or modifying entries in this list will affect the medication picklist on the Joint Injection/Aspiration procedure template. Edit Medication Billing Data Set Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, click Data Set, select Medication Billing from the resulting list and then click OK. The existing data set items associated with the Medication Billing data set appear in the grid. Click the Qualifier field and select the required data set item from the resulting list. Highlight the required row in the grid to modify and click Update. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens. Make the necessary changes in the applicable fields. Configure Medications for Joint Injections

You can configure medications for joint injections using the Joint Injection Data Setup template. For example, you can configure the Injection, dexamethasone sodium phosphate 1mg (J110) medication in two ways, based on preferences. Method 1 (commonly injected): If a provider usually injects 4 mg of the medication, this can be configured as 4 in the Amount field, mg in the Units field, and 4 in the Billing Units field. This method reduces the number of clicks in runtime. Method 2 (per billing unit): Define as one unit of medication is equal to one billing unit. This can be configured as 1 in the Amount field, mg in the Units field, and 1 in the Billing Units field. From the File menu, select System\Practice Template. The Select Template window appears. Click All on the Practice tab, select Data Sets Setup and then click OK. The Data Sets Setup template appears. Click the Data Set field and select Medication Billing from the resulting list. Medication Billing Data Set

The Medication Billing data set enables you to configure medical J codes for the Intraocular Injection and Joint Injection data set items (categories). The picklist is customizable at the practice level. You can add, modify, or delete items for medication billing. Remove Medication Billing Data Set Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, click Data Set, select Medication Billing from the resulting list and then click OK. Click the Qualifier field and select the required data set item from the resulting list. Highlight the required record in the grid to remove and click Remove.
