Document Occupation of a Patient

Open the Histories template. In the Social panel, select Occupation and then click Add. The Social History - Occupation template opens. Enter the employment and employment status in the corresponding fields. Enter phone number and restrictions in the corresponding fields. Select occupation from the list in the Occupation field. To clear and select another occupation, click Cl button and select occupation from the list. To select the retirement date, click the Retired field. Save and close the template. Document the History Review

You can document the review details of a patient's history in the generated encounter document. You can also document the review status of medical, surgical, family, and social histories on the template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Histories template, select the History Review link. History Review The History Review template opens. In Med/Surg/Interim Hx, Family, and Social, select the applicable option. Detailed document enables you to view all the details entered in the Histories template in the encounter document. Reviewed, updated enables you to indicate that you have reviewed and updated the patient's histories. Reviewed, no changes enables you to indicate that you have reviewed the patient's histories but made no changes. History unobtainable enables you to indicate that the information is not obtainable and enter the reason in the corresponding field. Select Save & Close. Document the Social History of the Patient

You can document the social history of a patient from the Social panel on the Histories template. Before you begin You must clear the Enable Panel version of Adult Social History check box on the Practice Configuration template to open the Social History – Tobacco template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the Social panel on the Histories template, select Tobacco/Vaping Use link from the left pane, and select Add/Edit. The Social History - Tobacco template opens. Note: You can select another link from the left pane to open the associated template. Depending on your specialty configurations, you can also open the Social History – Tobacco template from the navigation bar. Document necessary details in the following panels on the Social History - Tobacco template: Tobacco Use Historical Use Efforts To Quit Tobacco Vaping Use Passive Exposure Enter comments and select OK. Document Tobacco Cessation Efforts

You can document a patient's tobacco cessation efforts in the Efforts to Quit Tobacco panel on the Social History – Tobacco template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Social History – Tobacco template, do one of the following: On the Histories template, expand the Social panel, and select Add/Edit. In the History Summary panel on the Intake template, select Social, select Tobacco/Vaping Use, and select Add/Edit. On the Social History – Tobacco template, expand the Efforts to Quit Tobacco panel. Select the Have you ever tried to quit using tobacco? option. If you select No/never, document details of the discussions on tobacco cessation by selecting the Tobacco cessation discussed link. Social History – Tobacco To add the details of the patient's efforts to quit tobacco, do the following: Select the tobacco type, and then enter the date the patient attempted to quit tobacco. Patient's Adult Social History

You can view and document the social history of an adult patient. You can document the social history information of the patient in a one-page panel format on the Adult Social History template. This template does not appear by default. Adult Social History The Social History Review section enables you to document the review status. You can select an option to complete the social history review. You can select the Enable Panel version of Adult Social History check box in the Social History section of the Practice Configuration practice template to set the template as default.
