Vital Signs Monitoring on the ASC - Preprocedure Template

The Vital Signs Monitoring panel displays the patient's vitals documented by the Intake staff on the ASC - Intake template. For information on the Vital Signs Monitoring panel documentation, see Vital Signs Monitoring Panel on the ASC - Intake Template. The nurse or clinical staff can review the vitals and document another set of patient's vitals during pre-procedure. Note: If the Intake staff documents the baseline set of vitals, then you cannot select the Baseline checkbox. The baseline set of vitals forms a baseline for all the vitals taken during various stages of procedures. If you have vital signs interface installed in your system, then you can directly import patient's vitals from the vital signs device to the grid in the Vital Signs Monitoring panel. Vital Signs

You can configure multiple options using the Vital Signs section. options_on_vital_signs_section The Vital Signs section allows you to configure the following: BMI Calculation - If you select the Manual BMI Calculation checkbox, the BMI of the patient calculates after you select Calculate on the Vital Signs template. Note: The Manual BMI Calculation setting can be used when your system performance is slow. On the Vital Signs template, you can select Calculate next to the BSA field if the BMI value does not automatically appear after entering the required vitals for the BMI calculation. Vital Signs Monitor

The Vital Signs Device section displays the following: The vital signs monitor name that is connected through COM port. The first time when you connect the device to your personal computer and open the interface, you may need to select the drop-down arrow to select the device name. The system then makes the selected interface as the default when you subsequently open the interface. The Monitoring Mode field displays Continuous to indicate that the vital signs need to be captured continuously for the specified timeframe. If you connect a different vital signs device, the Monitoring Mode field is available for selecting the monitoring mode. You can select the drop-down arrow to select the mode of monitoring the vital signs of the patient. The Patient Information section displays the following: The patient's information uploads from the patient chart that is open in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Patient Vital Signs

You can document and manage a patient's vital signs. You can add various vital signs for a patient during an encounter. The most recent value for each vital sign appears in the grid. A number appears adjacent to the vital sign to indicate the number of times a value is recorded for the vital sign. You can point to the number to view the values and the time when each value is recorded. Vital Signs Section You can view only the vital sign records documented for the current day in the grid. To view the historical vital signs records, you can use the History link. To view the vital signs graphs you can turn on the Graph link. If the vital sign interface is installed, you can use the Import and Refresh buttons to open the VitalSignsSpotMonitor interface. Based on the configuration done in the Vital Signs section on the Practice Configuration template, you can turn on the Import and Refresh buttons and manage the security groups for the alerts. Enter the Vital Signs Monitoring Details

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . The Select Template window opens. Open the ASC-Intake template. In the Vital Signs Monitoring panel, select Add. To indicate the baseline set of vitals, select the Baseline checkbox. . To enter the time when the vitals were taken, in Time, do one of the following: Select the Time field arrow and enter the time on the Time Entry template. Select to enter the current system time in the Time field. Note: The asterisk (*) indicates that the Time field is mandatory. Enter the measured vitals in the following fields: Temp within the 50 – 121.98 F range, Pulse within the 10 – 499 range, Resp within the 0 – 99 range, Sys BP and Dias BP within the 0 – 399 range, SpO2 within 0 – 100 range, CO2, ECG rate, and ECG rhythm. Vital Signs Monitoring Panel on the ASC - Intraprocedure Template

The Vital Signs Monitoring panel displays the patient's vital signs documented on the ASC - Intake template or ASC - Preprocedure template. The nurse or clinical staff can review the vitals and document another set of patient's vitals during intra-procedure. For information on Vital Signs Monitoring panel documentation, see Vital Signs Monitoring Panel on the ASC - Intake Template. If the Baseline set of vitals is documented on the ASC - Intake template or ASC - Preprocedure template, then you cannot document the baseline vitals on the ASC - Intraprocedure template. The baseline vitals form the baseline for all the vitals taken during various stages of procedures. If you have vital signs interface installed in your system, then you can directly import patient's vitals from the vital signs device to the grid in the Vital Signs Monitoring panel.
