Patient's Tobacco Use Information

You can document the patient's current or past tobacco use information. You can document the patient's tobacco cessation efforts, vaping use details, and exposure to passive tobacco smoke in the following panels on the Social History - Tobacco template. Tobacco Use Historical Use Efforts To Quit Tobacco Vaping Use Passive Exposure Social History - Tobacco You can open the Social History – Tobacco template through the navigation bar, the History Summary panel on the Intake template, the Social panel on the Histories template, or the Risk Factors Config template. Histories Template

Patient history information is documented on the Histories template for a new patient, and reviewed and updated for an existing patient. Histories Patient's Problem List You can manage a patient's problems. Patient's Medical History The Medical/Surgical/Interim panel allows you to document the medical or surgical history of the patient. Patient's Diagnostic Tests and Results You can document a patient's diagnostic tests and the associated results. Patient's Family History You can document the family history of the patient in the Family panel on the Histories template. View Historical Tobacco Usage

On the Social History- Tobacco template, expand the Historical Use panel. If the client has encounters entered on a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine release prior to version 7.9.1, click the Click here to see tobacco history prior to 7.9.1 link. The Tobacco Use History template opens. Click Save & Close to return to the Social History - Tobacco template to review the client's tobacco history that was documented in versions later than 7.9.1. Add Family/Social History

Select Fam/Soc Hx. Fam/Soc Hx button under Past Medical History section A picklist opens for you to select the type of history you want to document. Select the history, and then select OK. The Social History template opens to the page you selected. You can select other social histories from the left navigation pane. Document Historic Tobacco Use

If the patient does not currently use tobacco but has in the past, select the No option next to Have you used tobacco in the last 30 days at the top of the Tobacco Use panel. Expand the Historic Use panel to document the patient’s historic tobacco use. Parent topic: Document Tobacco Use
