You can verify the configured visit type workflow using the mapped runtime template.
Before you begin
You must add a custom visit type using the
Visit Type Configuration window and map the specialty and the required templates to display at runtime using the
Framework Content system template.
An existing visit type and the associated Evaluation and Management code are mapped during the configuration of the custom visit type in the Visit Type Configuration window. After you have configured the custom visit type, you can verify if the E&M code associated with the mapped visit type is used while billing associated with the custom visit type. Also, you can verify if the mapped specialty and custom visit type details are displayed in the Master_im document.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- Select a patient record, an create a patient encounter.
- On Top Toolbar, select Templates
, and select the Intake template.
- Select the specialty with which you have mapped the custom visit type.
- Select the custom visit type from the list of existing and new visit types.
- Select the Finalize tab.

- In the Evaluation and Management Coding panel, verify that the billing code associated with the mapped visit type in the Visit Type Configuration window is displayed in the Visit Code field.

The code is submitted to Superbill and the Master_im document is created with the selected specialty and custom visit type details.
