Specialty

Click the
Panel
field to select a template.
The timeout elements entered for the selected panel appear in the grid.
Highlight the grid row to be updated, and then make the necessary changes to the
Timeout element

Update
.
In the top toolbar, click

, and then close the practice template.

Remove an Element
On the Procedure Timeout Configuration template, set Ambulatory Surgery as the Specialty. Click the Panel field to select a template. The timeout elements entered for the selected panel appear in the grid. Highlight the grid row to be deleted. Click Remove. In the top toolbar, click Save, and then close the practice template. Add Timeout Elements for Ambulatory Surgery
Although all specialties are available in the Specialties list, the preset configurations available on the practice template are applicable only to the Ambulatory Surgery specialty templates. On the Procedure Timeout Configuration template , click the Specialty field to select Ambulatory Surgery. Click the Panel field to select a template. Click the Timeout element field to type a new baseline timeout element for the template selected in the Panel field. Note: A maximum of 12 timeout elements can be included in each panel. Click Add. To move the position of the timeout elements in the grid, select a row and click the up or down sorting arrow. Click Save, and then close the practice template. Access the Procedure Timeout Configuration Template
From the File menu, click System / Practice Template. On the Select Template window, click the Practice tab. In the Show section, select All to see a complete list of practice templates. To open the Procedure Timeout Configuration template, do one of the following: Double-click Procedure Timeout Configuration. Select Procedure Timeout Configuration and then click OK. Procedure Timeout Elements
The Procedure Timeout Configuration practice template is used to set up elements that capture a final reassurance of accuracy before a procedure begins. The elements include such actions as a final check of the patient identity, surgical site, and planned procedure. These configured timeout elements are available on the templates in the Gastroenterology Ambulatory Surgery Center and Ambulatory Surgery Center specialties. The segment of the procedure being documented determines these elements. Add the Safe Surgery Timeout Elements
The Procedure Timeout Configuration practice template allows you to configure baseline safe surgery timeout elements. For more information on the Procedure Timeout Configuration practice template, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Procedure Timeout Configuration Practice Template for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. From the File menu, select System\Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select the Practice tab. In the Show section, select the All option.A list of practice templates opens. Select Procedure Timeout Configuration. The Procedure Timeout Configuration practice template opens with the list of specialties. Procedure Timeout Configuration Select a specialty from the list. Select Panel and select the template. In Timeout element, enter the baseline timeout elements for the panel selected in the Panel field. Select Add.The timeout element appears in the grid. Update the Status of Timeout Elements on the Intra-Procedure Safe Surgery Checklist/Timeout 1 Panel
The Intra-Procedure Safe Surgery Checklist/Timeout 1 panel allows you to document the status of the timeout elements pre-configured on the Procedure Timeout Configuration practice template, and signoff on the checklist. Intra-Procedure Safe Surgery Checklist/Timeout 1 To change the status of the timeout element, perform one of the steps as described below: Completed Select a timeout element and the status of the timeout element appears as Completed. To clear the status, select the timeout element two times. Not Applicable Select a timeout element two times and the status of the timeout element appears as Not Applicable. To clear the status, select the timeout element again. Completed to Not Applicable Select the timeout element with the status as Completed and the status of the timeout element changes to Not Applicable.
