Flowsheets

Flowsheets are used for comparison of various items over time, such as vital signs and labs. Practices can configure flowsheets as needed. Access Metrics on Care Guidelines

Click the Care Guidelines link on any template to access the Care Guidelines template. On the Care Guidelines template, click a disease or condition guideline listed in the blue left side bar under Outstanding Guidelines. If metrics are configured for the guideline, they appear on the Metrics panel in flowsheet format when the guideline is selected. Lab tests and Vital Signs categories have items relevant to the condition already configured to appear in the grid for tracking by default. Note: The Metrics panel appears blank until you select one of the patient's conditions. View Metrics Flowsheets on the Care Guidelines Template

Providers can view metrics for a patient such as lab and vital signs values, for up to 10 rows of data on the Care Guidelines template in the Metrics panel. Data is displayed in a flowsheet format that can be configured by practice or by provider on the Flowsheets Setup practice template. The Metrics grid is view-only and displays results from the Orders module. The Metrics grid also displays vital signs and vision screening. Metrics flowsheets are displayed on the Metrics panel when you select a condition listed in the blue left side pane of the Care Guidelines template. The conditions listed are those for which clinical guidelines have been activated for the patient. When you first open the Care Guidelines template and expand the Metrics panel, it appears blank. Flow sheets do not appear until you select a guideline listed in the blue left side bar under Outstanding Guidelines. Activate Diabetes Care Guidelines

Care guidelines can be set up for diabetes. The guidelines include tests, as well as recommended care items, and are a form of clinical decision support. Practices can customize care guidelines on the Activate Care Guidelines template. For more information on configuring care guidelines, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Care Guidelines User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. On the Chronic Conditions – Hpi template, navigate to the Care Guidelines section and select Update.The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines to add new guidelines or edit existing ones. Selecting the Diabetes link in the Care Guidelines template displays the configured diabetic guidelines. Select OK to return to the Chronic Conditions - Hpi template.Once the clinical or care guidelines are configured, they can be viewed and updated on the Chronic Conditions – Hpi template. Dynamic History of Present Illness

NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine is packaged with pre-configured dynamic HPI templates for some specialties. A dynamic History of Present Illness (HPI) template enables you to add, edit, update, and delete dynamic content for the HPI and concatenates the content on the template as items are selected or edited. Any specialty can use these pre-configured dynamic HPIs as part of their patient documentation.
