Dynamic HPI Templates

In the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates, the following types of History of Present Illness (HPI) templates are used to document a patient's reason for visiting the office: Static HPI - displays hard-coded content that is not easily customizable; a single template is available for each complaint with options for selecting pre-determined details: the final concatenation is available when you close the template Dynamic HPI - enables you to add, edit, update, and delete dynamic content for the HPI and concatenates the content on the template as items are selected or edited. NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine is packaged with pre-configured dynamic HPI templates for the Gastroenterology, Physical Therapy, Orthopedics, Urology, and Pediatrics Well Child. Templates Used to Customize a Dynamic HPI

You can manage History of Present Illness (HPI) sections and findings in the dynamic format on five practice templates and one system template. Pediatrics Well Child Reasons for Visit

The Well Child visit in Pediatrics enables you to document age-specific complaints for the following reasons for visit: Well Child birth to 1 Year Well Child 1-4 Years Well Child 5-10 Years Well Child 11-21 Years Note: This topic provides information on only those reasons for visit that opens dynamic HPI template associated with Pediatrics, Well Child visit. Treatment visits can be based on the non-laterality view as most patients do not have an issue that pertains to one side of the body or the other. Access Well Child Dynamic HPI Pediatrics Well Child Dynamic Parameters The dynamic HPI templates for the Pediatrics Well Child visit type have both generic and distinct sections available for documentation. Generic sections are common to all reasons for visit and distinct sections are specific to each reason for visit. The Pediatrics sub-specialty Reason for Visit panel includes a list of chief complaints that are configured to launch the following dynamic HPI templates: Autism Chest pain Fibromyalgia Joint pain Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Med check Palpitations Scleroderma Note: Not all of the reasons for visit associated to Pediatrics use a dynamic HPI template.
