Managing Patient Details in Screening and Assessment Tools

You can document details provided by the patient in all the screening and assessment tools configured by the practice during a patient encounter. Screening tools that appear on the Screening Tools template for a selected specialty in an encounter, vary based on the configuration. When you do not select a specialty for an encounter, all the screening tools automatically appear on the Screening Tools template. You can select the Current Specialty or All option to filter the screening tools on the Screening Tools template. The following indicators appear adjacent to the screening tools and indicate whether the screening tool opens as a template or a website. An asterisk * indicates that the screening tool is used during the current encounter. The letter T indicates that the screening tool opens as a template. Remove Screening Tools Log Data Set Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, select Data Set, and then select Screening Tools Log from the resulting list.The existing data set records associated from the screening tools log appear in the data set grid. Select a data set item. Select Remove.The selected record is removed from the Data Sets Setup template. Configure Screening Tools

You can configure a screening tool by using the Screening Tools Log data set. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. In the Show section, select All. Select Data Sets Setup, and then select OK. From the Data Sets Setup template, open the Screening Tools Log Configuration template. Enter the screening tool name, select Type, and then do one of the following: To link a template, select the Template option, and then select a template from Launch To. To link a website, select the Web Page option, and then enter a URL in Launch To. To select a specialty, do one of the following: To configure a screening tool for all specialties, retain the default selection, All. To configure a screening tool for the required specialties, select Custom, and then select the specialties from the specialty selection window. On the run-time Intake template, select a Specialty, and then select Office Visit. In the navigation bar, select the Screening Tools link.The Screening Tools template opens. On the Screening Tools template, do one of the following: To view the screening tools configured for the selected specialty, select Current Specialty. To view all the screening tools, select All. Note: If a specialty is not selected for an encounter, the All option is selected by default and all the screening tools appear on the Screening Tools template. From the Screening Tools Available panel, do one of the following: Select a screening tool with T indicator from the Screening Tools Available panel. Update Screening Tools Log Data Set Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, select Data Set, and then select Screening Tools Log.The data set items from the screening tools log appear in the data set grid. Screening Tools Template Details

You can use the fields, checkboxes, and grids on the Screening Tools template to manage the screening tools. Current Specialty Displays screening tools configured for the selected specialty. When you select a specialty for an encounter, the Current Specialty option is selected by default and the screening tools configured for the selected specialty appears on the Screening Tools template.
