Update a Quick Notes Default Set

You cannot update a Quick Notes default set because it is generated from multiple screens/templates. You can only remove an existing Quick Note and then create a new Quick Note. On the SOAP template, click the Quick Notes: Save button. On the Quick Save template, from the Full Exam Quick Saves grid, select a Quick Notes default set. Note: When the Number of Screens column indicates Multiple, the Remove button is enabled, and the Update button is disabled. To delete the existing default set, click Remove. A confirmation message appears prior to removing the default set from the gird. Click Yes. To create a new Quick Notes default set with updated values, refer to Save a Quick Note. Naming Conventions for a Quick Note

Even in a small practice, the number of saved Quick Notes can quickly rise making it challenging to locate a specific Quick Note among a long list of other similarly named Quick Notes. It is therefore essential that practices establish and adhere to Quick Note naming conventions. While you can establish your own naming conventions, NextGen Healthcare recommends that you use provider-initials, gender, laterality, name where: Provider initials - 3-letter initials of the provider creating the Quick Note. Using this convention enables providers to quickly locate their own Quick Note. Gender – since many of the templates have variations for male and female patients, specifying the gender is essential. For non-gender specific cases, use the word 'both'. Laterality – for many specialties, it is important to know the laterality of the condition, either right, left, or bilateral. Delete a Quick Note

You can delete an unwanted Quick Note. On the SOAP template, click the Quick Notes: Save. Highlight the row for the Quick Note that you want to delete on the Full Exam Quick Saves grid. The system fills the template with the data from the selected Quick Note. Click Remove. A prompt to confirm the delete appears. Create Template Default Sets with Quick Save

You can create a default template set using the Quick Save template. To create a template default set for data you entered on a template or panel, use the Quick Save template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Quick Save button.The Quick Save template opens. Quick Save Note: The Options panel is unavailable. In the Save As field, enter a name for the Quick Save default set.NextGen Healthcare recommends entering a name in the <your initials> <gender> <default name> format (for example, AK_female_Asthma HPI). Select one of the following: All Specialties sets the Quick Save settings to be available across all specialties. This option is set as the default. Current Specialty Only sets the Quick Save settings to be available only in the currently opened specialty. Create Template Default Sets in Run Time

The Quick Save icon enables you to create template default sets in various locations throughout the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. This feature enables you to save selected data fields, check boxes, and options, under a unique template default set name. On any template with the Quick Save icon, populate the data fields and then select the check boxes and options to be included in the default set. Click the Quick Save icon. The Save Template Defaults template opens. The Default Set Category field populates based on the location of the Quick Save icon. The All Specialties option is selected by default to make the template default set available for all specialties. If you want this template default set to be available only for the current specialty, select the Current Specialty Only option. Understanding Quick Note Functionality

When using the Quick Notes feature, you can only apply one Quick Note at a time. If you apply a Quick Note, then subsequently apply a second one, the data associated with the second Quick Note set overwrites all existing data in the template.
