Review Communication Details for a Patient

You can review the details of all types of interaction with the patient, and assign tasks to users or workgroups for necessary actions.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. To open the Select Template window, do one of the following:
    • From the Encounters or Categories tab, select Open Template.
    • From the top toolbar, select Templates .
    • Select File > New > Template.
  3. Select the Demographics tab, select All, and then select Communications from the list.
    The Communications template opens.
  4. Optional: To view the communication details for a specific timeframe, select the appropriate option for View.
  5. Review the following details for the patient:
    • Appointment
    • Outstanding tasks
    • Telephone communication
    • Communication through NextGen® PxP Portal
    • Sticky notes added in the patient’s chart
    • Record of Protected Health Information (PHI) releases
    • Actions taken by the provider
  6. To assign a task to a user or workgroup, select Task next to Panel Control, enter the description of the task, and then select Send Task.
  7. Optional: To add or update telephone communications through the Telephone Communication template, select Communication from the Telephone Communication panel.
