You can review the details of all types of interaction with the patient, and assign tasks to users or workgroups for necessary actions.
 
  - Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
 
  - To open the Select Template window, do one of the following:
   
    - From the Encounters or Categories tab, select Open Template.
 
    - From the top toolbar, select Templates 
. 
    - Select .
 
   
 
  - Select the Demographics tab, select All, and then select Communications from the list.
   
    The Communications template opens.
   
 
  - Optional: To view the communication details for a specific timeframe, select the appropriate option for View.
   
    Note: By default, the Last Year option is selected.
    
 
     
  - Review the following details for the patient:
   
    
     - Appointment
 
     - Outstanding tasks
 
     - Telephone communication
 
     - Communication through NextGen® PxP Portal
 
     - Sticky notes added in the patient’s chart
 
     - Record of Protected Health Information (PHI) releases
 
     - Actions taken by the provider
 
    
     
  - To assign a task to a user or workgroup, select Task next to Panel Control, enter the description of the task, and then select Send Task.
 
  - Optional: To add or update telephone communications through the Telephone Communication template, select Communication from the Telephone Communication panel.
