Record a Telephone Conversation in the Communication Panel

You can record a telephonic conversation held with the patient using the Communication panel.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. Select the applicable reason from the left pane of the Communication panel.
  3. Select Add.
    The corresponding template opens.
  4. In the template, enter the appropriate details in the Call Information, Contact Information, Communication, Comments , and Actions sections.
  5. If you want to task the details to a recipient for any further action, select Priority and select the priority of the task.
  6. Select Send & Close.
    The Select Task Recipient template opens.
    1. Select the recipient from the Available Users/Workgroups pane.
    2. Select Add User(s).
      The selected recipient name moves to the Task Recipients pane.
    3. Select OK.
  7. Select the Open or Complete option to indicate the Status.
  8. Select Save & Close.
    The documented communication details appear in the grid and the count appears for the reason in the left pane. The count indicates the total number of calls documented for a specific reason.

    The Preview Document button generates the telephone_communication document. This document includes the details documented in the Communication panel.
