Documenting PSC or MCHAT Using SWYC Developmental Milestones

The Other Developmental Screening Tools panel on the SWYC Milestone Full View template enables you to document development milestones associated with Pediatric Symptom Checklist (PSC) and Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (MCHAT). You can also use a different screening tool to document the development milestones in the Other screenings section. SWYC Milestones Full View The Add New link in the Other screenings section opens the Other Developmental Screening Tool template to enter the name of the screening tool used and the results of the survey. The Print button opens a list to select the visit and generate the corresponding document displaying the documented milestones information. The documented MCHAT, PSC, and Other screenings tools results and scores appear in the Screening Tool Results grid on the SWYC Milestone Full View template. Document SWYC Developmental Milestone by Family Member

The Survey of Well-being of Young Children (SWYC) is a comprehensive screening instrument for children below 5 years of age. You can document development milestones for the family members or caretakers of the child. Before you begin To access the SWYC Milestones templates, you need to select the Use SWYC development screening checkbox on the Practice Configuration template. If the Use SWYC development screening checkbox is not selected, you can open the SWYC Milestone Family View template using Templates on the Top Toolbar. For more information on configurations, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Practice Configuration Template User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The SWYC Milestone Family View template is a copy of the SWYC Milestone Full View template. As the SWYC Milestone Family View template is documented by family members or caretakers, you must first change the view of the template to Patient Mode to hide the links in NextGen® Adaptive Cont

Document SWYC Developmental Milestones

You can document the Survey of Wellbeing of Children (SWYC)™ developmental milestones for children less than 5 years of age on the SWYC Milestone Full View template. The SWYC developmental milestones are not configurable. You can also add an assessment and submit a procedure code to the Superbill on the SWYC Milestone Full View template, if required. Before you begin To access the SWYC Milestones templates, you need to select the Use SWYC development screening checkbox on the Practice Configuration template. The SWYC Milestones Full View template includes 12 distinct age groups, enabling you to document development milestones for children aged 1 month through 60 months, 31 days. Document Child Development Milestones

You can document the details of the child's developmental milestones on the Child Development Record template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Pediatric SOAP template. In the Screening pane, click Child Development History.The Child Dev. Rec template opens. To document a developmental milestone of the child, do the following: Click the Details link on the age group matching the child's current age.The PEDS Child Dev [Age] template opens. Indicate if the child passed or failed to achieve the milestones. Enter any comments provided by the historian for any milestone. Note: To clear all the selections made on the template, you can click Clear All. You can select the Pass All checkbox if the patient achieves all the milestones. Click Save & close.The total pass score, fail score, and indicator displaying the status of the survey appear in the age group where the developmental milestones are documented. You can click information to view details about the symbols used in the results.

Pediatric Age

You can configure Pediatrics specialty using the Pediatric Age section. Pediatric Age section The Pediatric Age section allows you to define the age limits of pediatrics in the Peds Navigation Age field. The patients older than the age defined in the Peds Navigation Age field are considered as the adult patients. For the patients equal to or lesser than the Peds Navigation Age, the system opens the templates specific for the pediatrics patient in runtime. You can also define age in the Peds Physical Exam Age field to assign the PE normals for pediatrics using the template defaults. If you select the Use SWYC developmental screening checkbox, the SWYC developmental milestones templates open when you select Developmental History in the History Summary panel on the SOAP template. Manage Pediatric Screening

You can document and manage the screening tests and results for a patient using the screening buttons in the Screening panel on the Pediatric SOAP template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Pediatric SOAP template. To document the screening instrument, click the appropriate button from the Screening panel. To document the vision acuity details and the color vision test results, click Vision and enter the details on the Vision Screening - PE template. To document the patient's audiometry test details, click Hearing and enter the details on the Tone audiometry - PE template. To document the details of the tuberculosis risk assessment and skin test, click PPD and enter the details on the Tuberculin Skin Test template.
