Manage Pediatric Screening

You can document and manage the screening tests and results for a patient using the screening buttons in the Screening panel on the Pediatric SOAP template.

1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
2. Open the Pediatric SOAP template.
3. To document the screening instrument, click the appropriate button from the Screening panel.
   • To document the vision acuity details and the color vision test results, click Vision and enter the details on the Vision Screening - PE template.
   • To document the patient's audiometry test details, click Hearing and enter the details on the Tone audiometry - PE template.
   • To document the details of the tuberculosis risk assessment and skin test, click PPD and enter the details on the Tuberculin Skin Test template.
   • To document the patient's depression screening details, click PHQ and enter the details on the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-2) template.
   • To document the patient's developmental milestone click Child Development History.
   • To document other pediatric screening results, click Other Screenings and enter the details on the Other Developmental Screening Tools template.
   • To document additional screening tools, click the Screening Instrument field and access any screening tools on the Screening Tools template.

4. To remove any screening instrument details, select the entry in the grid and click Remove.
5. To open any attached documents with the recorded screening instrument for the encounter, select the entry in the grid, and click Open Encounter Document.
6. To view CQM measures and exclusion management details, click Exclusions.
   The Exclusion/Measures template opens to document the details.

7. To create health promotion plans, click Health Promotion Plan and document the health promotion plan details on the Health Promotion Plan template.
