Removing a Care Guideline or Individual Guideline Item

You can remove a care guideline for a patient in the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel.

You can use the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel on the Activate Care Guideline template to remove individual guideline items or an entire care guideline by disease condition. You can also restore guidelines that are removed. You can do the following:

• Remove a guideline by condition is only available for the most current encounter for the patient.
• Remove an individual guideline item that is not followed while the remaining items for the guideline are followed for the patient.
• Remove a guideline in the current encounter, if you add a guideline by mistake or it no longer applies to the patient.

  If the guideline was added in a past encounter, historical documentation is saved, but cannot see the guideline in future encounters.
