Sorting Assessments

You can update the order of the assessments for a patient in the Reorder Assessments template. The first 12 line items are available for billing, providers may want to ensure that certain assessments are included in the upper 12 rows of the list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. Open the Intake template, select the specialty as Family Practice and the visit type as Office Visit, and then select My Plan. Select the Assessments tab and then select Sort. Reorder Assessments window displaying the existing sort order and new sort order of assessments The Reorder Assessments template opens. In the Existing Sort Order grid, select the row you want to be the first in the list. That selection becomes number 1 in the New Sort Order grid. Continue to select the available assessment rows until you have them in the required order. Optional: If you select a row in error, select Undo Last. To start over, select Undo All. Save the Documented Assessment Details

After you have completed documenting the patient's plan and associated details, there are different options for proceeding with the encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To document another assessment plan when you are still in the Assessment/Plan Details template, select a different diagnosis from the grid in Today's Assessment. Delete an Existing Assessment

CAUTION: Removing an item from the Today's Assessment grid does not resolve the diagnosis. The Add or Update Assessments template is part of a group of templates that use the last assessment or diagnosis selected on any of the templates as the working assessment. If you remove one of multiple available assessments on the Add or Update Assessments template, you must select a new working assessment that carries over to the other templates that share the same working assessment. Open the Assessment Plan Details Template

Some specialties (for example, Cardiology) open the Assessment Plan Details template differently. Refer to the specialty guide for your version of NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine available on NextGen Healthcare Success Community for instructions if the following does not apply: Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
