Access the Office Diagnostics

The Office Diagnostics Setup and Management practice template is used to configure and manage provider-approved service items (office order items) for office like medications, procedures, supplies, tests, and diagnostics. You can organize the service items into different sets of office-based orders to be used in the Office Services template in run time. From the File menu, select System/Practice Template. In Select Template, select the Practice tab. In the Show section, select All . Select Office Diagnostics Setup and Management from the list and select OK.The Office Diagnostics Setup and Management template opens. Order Categories for Standing and Office-Based Orders

The NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine is delivered with a default order set of office-based tests, medications, and procedures for all locations. You can use this default order set as a basis to create a new order set, commonly ordered for specific diagnosis, location, and so on. The Office Diagnostics Setup and Management practice template enables you to configure standing orders and other office-based orders that appear on the Office Services template in run time. Naming Convention for Order Categories and Service Categories

The Office Diagnostics Setup and Management practice template and File Maintenance do not use the same names for the various order/services categories. The following table shows the order category in the Office Diagnostics Setup and Management practice template and the corresponding service category name in the File Maintenance. Update Standing Orders

On the Office Diagnostics Setup and Management practice template, in the Standing Orders grid, select an Order Category. Select an order in the Standing Orders grid.The selected order details populate in the fields above the Standing Orders grid. Office Diagnostics Setup and Management window displaying the standing orders in the grid. Make relevant changes in the applicable fields. Obtaining Test or Code Information for a Standard Office Procedure, Lab, and Diagnostic Orders

You can obtain test or code information for standard office, procedure, lab, and diagnostic orders to map with the corresponding care guidelines using the Order Management template. Most orders placed through templates for various office procedures and tests appear on the Order Management template for the patient. Basic test information for the codes and descriptions that need to be captured for associated guidelines to update can easily be reviewed from the Order Management template using example or test patients. Perform the following steps to obtain the test and code information for each order to map to guidelines. For a test patient on an existing or new encounter, open the Order Management template from the Templates module. Search the required order.
