Open the Template Set Associated with the Procedure Preadmission Visit Type

You can document the pre-admission details before beginning the procedure for a patient using the Procedure Preadmission visit type.

The Procedure Preadmission visit type includes a framework template set that allows scheduler or clinical support staff to document the pre-admission details required before beginning a procedure.

If you have not configured the Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template to open as the default template for a new encounter, perform the following steps to open the template set associated with the Procedure Preadmission visit type.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following:
    • On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template.
    • On Top Toolbar, select Templates.
    • On the main menu, select File > New > Template.
    The Select Template window opens.
  3. In Show, select All.
  4. Select Home Page from the list of Medical Records templates and then select OK.
    The Home Page template opens.
  5. Select the Specialty list and select Ambulatory Surgery.
    A list opens to select visit type.
  6. Select Procedure Preadmission from the list.
    The Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template opens.

    In the Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template, you can view the data documented by the scheduler, provider, and clinicians/nurses in the previous encounters.

  7. To proceed with the Procedure Preadmission visit, select the Scheduling tab.
    The ASC - Scheduling Questions template opens.
