Ambulatory Surgery Home Page and Common Templates Ambulatory Surgery Home Page and Common Templates You can document the details of the procedure performed on the patient in the ASC using the framework template sets in the Ambulatory Surgery specialty. The Ambulatory Surgery specialty content allows documentation of procedure details performed on the patient in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The ASCs have patients referred by the primary care physicians to perform procedures related to a specific problem or an illness found through a diagnostic analysis. The Ambulatory Surgery specialty includes the following visit types: Procedure Preadmission Procedure Procedure Post Discharge Virtual Visit Telephone Virtual Visit Video Note: Virtual visits use the same template set as the Procedure Preadmission visit type. Open the Template Set Associated with the Procedure Preadmission Visit Type

You can document the pre-admission details before beginning the procedure for a patient using the Procedure Preadmission visit type. The Procedure Preadmission visit type includes a framework template set that allows scheduler or clinical support staff to document the pre-admission details required before beginning a procedure. Note: Virtual visits use the same template set as the Procedure Preadmission visit type. The instructions provided for the Procedure Preadmission visit type in the following sections are also applicable for virtual visits. If you have not configured the Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template to open as the default template for a new encounter, perform the following steps to open the template set associated with the Procedure Preadmission visit type. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. Open the Template Set Associated with Procedure Visit Type

The Procedure visit type of the Ambulatory Surgery specialty allows you to document the patient's procedure and anesthesia details. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates. On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. In the Show section, select the All option. Select Home Page from the list of Medical Records templates. Select OK.The Home Page template opens. Select the Specialty list and select Ambulatory Surgery from the list.The list opens to select visit type. Note: If applicable, the rendering providers can configure the default visit specialty. Select Procedure from the list. The Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template opens. Open the Templates Associated with Procedure Post Discharge Visit Type

The Procedure Post Discharge visit type of the Ambulatory Surgery specialty allows you to document the post discharge details. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates. On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. In the Show section, select the All option. Select Home Page from the list of Medical Records templates. Select OK.The Home Page template opens. Select the Specialty list and select Ambulatory Surgery from the list. A list opens to select visit type. Select Procedure Post Discharge from the picklist. The Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template opens. In the Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template, you can view the data documented by the provider or nurse on the Procedure visit type and Procedure Preadmission visit type. Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery Template

The Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template of the Procedure Preadmission visit type displays the data documented in the previous and/or current encounter by the scheduler or clinical support staff in the ASC - Scheduling Questions and ASC - Pre admission templates. This home page also displays the data documented by the provider and nurse in the framework template sets of the Procedure visit type, when the case ID of the encounters is same. Select the home icon on the navigational bar to open the Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery template. The scheduler or clinical support staff can review the documented data by the provider and proceed with the workflow in the ASC- Scheduling Questions template or ASC - Pre admission template. Patient Pre Admission Instructions Panel on the Home Page - Ambulatory Surgery Template

The Patient Pre Admission Instructions panel displays the data documented by the scheduler on the ASC - Scheduling Questions template and the clinical support staff on the ASC - Pre admission template.
