Document Medications

You can document the medications to prescribe to a patient using the Medications module. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake or SOAP template. In the Medications panel, select Add/Update.The Medications module opens. Select Prescribe New.The Medication Search template opens. Search for and select a medicine from the list. Enter the Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date details. Select the Prescribed elsewhere checkbox, if applicable. Select Accept. Close the Medications module. Note: If applicable, you can select the Comment link to open the Medication Comment template. You must not use the Medication Comment template to list medications the patient is consuming. You can use the Medication Comment template as a temporary location to list all the unknown medications the patient is consuming along with the dosage and sig details. Access the Patient Status Template

Quality Buttons and CQM Information Templates

Using the Quality buttons, you can open information templates containing details about documenting the associated Clinical Quality Measure (CQM). NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates contain Quality buttons in various places. For example, on the Medication Review template, in Medication Module, you can see the Summary of care received checkbox contain a Quality button. Open the Provider CQM Maintenance System Template

You can access the template in multiple ways to capture the provider CQM maintenance details. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. From the Show section, select All. To open the Provider CQM Maintenance template, do one of the following: Double-click Provider CQM Maintenance. Open the Transitioning Into Care Template

You can view and manage the summary of care details for a patient by using the Transitioning Into Care template. You can only view the details of summary of care documents that are received or imported from a Health Information Exchange (HIE) for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake or SOAP template, select General. Select the Transitioning Into Care link. The Transitioning Into Care template opens. Open the Associate Medications Template

You can use the Associate Medications template to document associate medications and diagnoses. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the Reason for Visit panel, select Chronic Conditions to open the Chronic Conditions template. The Problem Description and Active Medications details are displayed in the left pane.
