Document Counseling and Education Details

You can use the Counseling Details template to document the counseling and education details of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Home Page - Cardiology template, click the Counseling Details link.The Counseling Details window opens. Counselling Details In the Counseling/Educational Details section, enter the details of Type of counseling, Method of counseling, Evaluation of counseling, the time spent in the Time field (this calculates the total number of minutes spent counseling the patient during the encounter), Comments, Educational materials, Interpreter used, Language, Interpreter’s name, Relationship to the patient. In Counseling/Educational Factors, indicate if a detailed document or document that the counseling/educational factors were reviewed. In Counseling/Education Factors, select from the following sections. Set Up Patient Educational Resources

You can set up patient educational resources such as website addresses and PDF documents on the Card Setup Patient Education template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open System \ Practice Template. On the Practice tab, double-click Card Setup Patient Education. Enter the category, document description, item type, and name or location. Select Add. Edit Patient Education Documents

The Patient Education grid in the Today's Orders panel displays the patient education documents that are added to a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Today’s Orders panel. Select Patient Education To edit patient education documents, select Patient Education. The Patient Education Browser window opens. Note: You can use the browser to add or edit the list of patient education documents. Issuing Patient Education Documents

The Patient Education panel contains the education documents of a patient that are added to the patient's chart. You can print education documents for a patient by printing them or send the documents to the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. When you save a patient education document to an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR moves the document to the Patient Education grid in the Today’s Order panel. Make Education Documents Available to Patients Create Patient Plan Summary Documents You can create a patient plan summary on the Checkout template. Patient Document Generation

You can generate patient documents in NextGen® Enterprise EHR on the workstation you are logged on to or offline on a remote workstation. Before generating a particular document, make sure that you have selected a patient. Also you can check that all the relevant data is entered into the patient medical record. You can select options to save or print a patient document or send it to a patient account on NextGen® PxP Portal website when it is generated. You can create documents in two other ways: A template may be configured with a Launch Document trigger that you can execute to generate a document. Use NextGen® Enterprise EHR Quick View feature to generate a document in real time as you work on a patient encounter. You can then save and attach the document to the patient chart.
