Create Lab Slips

You can use the Lab Slip link to generate patient specific lab slips that you can print and hand over to the patients. The Pull From Plan link enables you to pull the labs from the Labs template that have been ordered on Today’s visit and place them in each slip section to be printed. The Pull From Lipid link pulls lipid labs that have been placed on the Lipids template. The Print Slips link prints the labs on a crystal report called CARD_LabSlips that you can give to the patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Home Page - Cardiology template, click the Lab Slip link. Lab Slips on Home Page - Cardiology In the Lab Slip Information section, to pull the lipid labs, click the Pull From Plan link. Verify the following: If the patient should be Fasting. The Date by selecting a date from the calendar. The Interval of the lab. If the lab slip should be Forwarded to a particular provider. Create Letters and Clearance Letters

You can use the Letters/Clearance template to issue specific letters or clearance letters to patients. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Home Page - Cardiology template, click the Letters/Clearance link. The Letters template opens. Letters Template In the Letters section, document in the desired letter section. Document Counseling and Education Details

You can use the Counseling Details template to document the counseling and education details of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Home Page - Cardiology template, click the Counseling Details link.The Counseling Details window opens. Counselling Details In the Counseling/Educational Details section, enter the details of Type of counseling, Method of counseling, Evaluation of counseling, the time spent in the Time field (this calculates the total number of minutes spent counseling the patient during the encounter), Comments, Educational materials, Interpreter used, Language, Interpreter’s name, Relationship to the patient. In Counseling/Educational Factors, indicate if a detailed document or document that the counseling/educational factors were reviewed. In Counseling/Education Factors, select from the following sections. Generate Patient Education Material

You can use the Education link to generate patient material. You can use the link to document stress tests, echo, vascular, and outpatient tests, and then print the report and issue it to the patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Home Page - Cardiology template, click the Education link. Home Page - Cardiology template Education panel In the Education section, select the appropriate checkboxes in the various subsections.The respective document automatically gets generated on selection of the checkbox of the subsection. Do one of the following: To print the document, click Print. To print the education material, click Print Education. To view the material on the education window, click View Only. Cardiology Office Visit and Virtual Visit

You can document a patient’s visit to a Cardiology specialty using several workflows. A Cardiology visit consists of office and virtual visits. Note: The instructions provided for office visit in the following sections are also applicable for virtual visits. The Cardiology office and virtual visit workflow includes the following: Intake staff workflow provides instructions for nurses or medical assistants on how to use the Intake and Histories templates to document the reasons for visit, medication, allergies, social history, and so on. Provider workflow provides instructions for physicians on how to use the SOAP and Finalize templates to document assessment and physical exam details, generate evaluation, management codes, and so on. Checkout staff workflow provides instructions for front desk employees on how to use the Checkout template to view order details and provide necessary documents to patients.
