Care Guidelines Clear and Restore Utility

You can clear and restore the content of a care guideline for any patient data. Use the Care Guidelines Clear and Restore practice template to reset care guidelines data and settings back to the original defaults. You can do the following: Restore the NextGen healthcare provided default definitions for care guidelines, this removes care guidelines content you have configured at the practice level. Choose to clear all the care guidelines information at the patient level, such as guidelines activated for patients and their reasons, and any customizations made. This allows you to start over with using care guidelines. CAUTION: Restoring care guidelines default definitions and clearing care guidelines related patient data is a one-time use function. After you decide to run this utility, you cannot recover the data. This utility should not be run when you are using the application. Reporting and Removing Selected Patient Level Care Guidelines Data

You can report and remove a patient's care guidelines using the Care Guidelines Clear and Restore template. The Report and Remove panel on the Care Guidelines Clear and Restore practice template allows you to run a search to select and view records for guideline items and the number of patients that they affect, along with the number of affected encounters. After running the search and viewing results, you can decide to remove the patient level guideline data for the guideline items displayed in the grid. Select the Start button to put the care guidelines application in Cleanup mode. While the system is in Cleanup mode, do not enter the data for patients or perform activities related to care guidelines. Care guideline items are reviewed and removed for one practice or for all of the practices in an enterprise. Note: The grid displays the guideline records after you select the search criteria. You can report and restore a patient's care guidelines data using the Report and Restore panel. You can restore care guidelines data only during the same cleanup session in which they were removed. You can run a search to view records for care guideline items to restore, including the number of patients and encounters that restoring them affects. After selecting filter options, running the search, and viewing results, you can decide to restore the patient level guideline data for the guideline items displayed in the grid. Filter options can be adjusted until the grid displays those guideline items you wish to restore. To restore patient-level data for the selected guidelines displayed in the grid, you must select the Restore button while the care guidelines application is in Cleanup mode, and no data can be entered for patients or activities related to care guidelines. Restoring Defaults for Care Guidelines at the Practice Level

You can restore the default content of a care guideline for a patient. Restore the default content and definitions of care guidelines using the Restore NextGen Default Care Guidelines Definitions – Practice Level panel. This removes all existing customized content for the practice. Care guidelines content and definitions at the practice level can be restored for all practices in the enterprise at one time, or for only the practice you are currently logged into. There are three categories of care guidelines content. Each category can be restored without affecting the others: Recommended Care (non-medication) Recommended Care (medication) Orderable items Resetting Care Guidelines at the Patient Level You can reset the content of a care guideline for a patient using the Reset Patient Care Guidelines panel. Clear and Restore Utility

You can clear the default content of a care guideline for any patient data. The clear and restore tools for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine include the care guidelines clear or restore report and utilities to restore default content and definitions that are packaged with care guidelines and to clear out any old care guidelines patient data. The clear and restore tools for care guidelines can be used with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine versions 8.3.x, 8.4.x, and later. CAUTION: The care guidelines clear or restore tool should only be run during off hours. The tool is designed to evaluate all patient records, and cause serious performance issues if you run it while continuing to use the application. Functions of the clear or restore tool is based on the number of patient records in the database. After you run this tool, you cannot recover any removed data. Export Selected Patient Level Care Guidelines Data

You can export selected patient level care guidelines data during the removing and restoring process. After selecting patient level care guidelines data in the Report and Remove or Report and Restore panels, the selected data that appears in the panel grid can be exported to a CSV file. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, Select System/Practice Templates. The Select Template window opens. From the Practice tab, select All. A list of practice-level templates opens. Select Care Guidelines Clear and Restore, and then select OK. The Care Guidelines Clear and Restore practice template opens. In the Report and Remove or Report and Restore panel, select the patient data to remove or restore. Select the Export button. A Save As window opens. By default, the file is saved to the user’s Documents folder with the filename ngkbm_cg_remv_export.csv or ngkbm_cg_restore_export.csv depending on which panel you are exporting from.
