Review of the Patient's Systems

You can document the findings for a patient after reviewing their systems. The Review of Systems panel displays the documented findings of a patient. Review of Systems Using the Quick Load button, you can select the required default set to apply to the Review of Systems (ROS) findings. For more information on Quick Load functionality, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Getting Started User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The documented ROS findings appear in rows in the Review of Systems grid with the system name, positive or negative indication, and the findings. You can select any row containing the symptoms to edit the review of systems findings. Document the Review of Systems Findings

You can document the findings of a patient's review of systems for multiple systems using a single template or a single system. Before you begin The One Page ROS option opens a gender-specific or gender-neutral Review of Systems (ROS) template based on the configuration of the Review of Systems section on the Framework Content system template. The Select other ROS option displays the practice's systems configured on the Framework Content system template. You can configure the gender-neutral Reproductive ROS template based on the configuration of the SOGI/Transgender section on the Practice Configuration template. Record Review of Systems Findings

Before you begin Ensure that you have selected the Specialty and Visit Type as Care Management. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Comp Assessment tab, expand the Review of Systems panel. Select Primary Care ROS - Male/Female from the left pane. The gender-specific ROS [Male or Female] template opens. ROS-Male Select the Neg (Negative) or Pos (Positive) option for each condition within the system groups. If you want to mark all the conditions as neg for a system, select the All neg checkbox for that system. You can also select the system-specific links to document detailed information on that specific system. If you want to document normal values in all the sections, in the ROS Defaults field, select the appropriate one-page default template from the list. All the fields in the template are filled with normal values to allow for charting by exception. Document Review of Systems Findings

The ROS Defaults field at the top of the Review of Systems panel opens a list of options to load normal values into the grid. You can document findings after reviewing a list of systems. In the Review of Systems panel, select ROS - OPH from the left pane. The ROS - OPH template opens. To indicate that every symptom in a given system is negative, select the All negative check box for that system. Select the Neg or Pos options for the applicable systems. To document normal values in all the system sections, in the ROS Defaults field, select the appropriate default template set from the list. Normal values appear in template fields to enable you to chart by exception. To document system-specific ROS, click a system link in the left pane and do the following: Select the Neg or Pos options for the applicable systems. Click Save & Close. Click Save & Close. Manage Pediatric ROS Findings

You can add or edit symptoms entered during the intake process in the Review of Systems panel on the SOAP template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the SOAP template. To document multiple systems on one template in the Review of Systems panel, do the following: Click the one page Pediatric ROS link in the left pane. Note: The one page Pediatric ROS link opens a gender-specific or gender-neutral ROS template based on the configuration done in the Framework Content system template. Based on your preference, you can also add a caption for the one page Pediatric ROS link in the Framework Content system template. You can document the findings of a patient's review of systems for multiple systems using a single template or a single system. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake template, in the Review of Systems panel, select ROS - Allergy/Immunology from the left pane. The ROS - Allergy/Immunology template opens. ROS - Allergy/Immunology Select the Pos or Neg option for each symptom reported by the patient. To enter other associated symptoms, select the Pos option for Other, and then select a symptom from the list.
