Document the Patient's Temperature

You can measure the body temperature of a patient.

1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
2. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter.
3. On Top Toolbar, select Templates .
   The Select Template window opens.
4. Open the Intake template.
5. Expand the Vital Signs panel and select Add.
   The age-specific vital signs template opens.
6. In Temperature, enter the patient's temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius within the 50 – 121.98 F or 10 – 49.99 C range respectively.
   Based on the value entered in the F or C field, the other field is filled automatically.

   Note: A message appears if the value entered is not within the range.
7. To document the physical site used to measure the temperature, select Site, and then select the appropriate method of measuring the temperature.
8. Save and close the template.
