You can document dental care for a pediatric patient in the Social panel on the Histories template.
 
  The options available to document dental care for a pediatric patient change based on the pediatric age group. These templates enable you to document age-appropriate nutrition information for pediatric patients.
 
 
  - Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
 
  - Open the Histories template.
 
  - Expand the Social panel and select Nutrition.
 
  - Click Add/Edit. 
   
    Based on the patient's age, one of the following windows opens: 
    
     - Interval History - Nutrition birth- 12 mo for 0 to 12 months
 
     - Interval History - Nutrition 1 to 4 yr for 1 to 4 years
 
     - Interval History Nutrition Over 5 yr for 5 years or older
 
    
    
  - To review the existing CQM – Dental Caries details of the patient, click the quality 
 icon. 
  - Select the date when the patient last visited the dentist in the Last visit section.
 
  - For dental concerns, do one of the following:
   
    - If there are no dental concerns, select No concerns.
 
    - If there are dental concerns, provide the following details: 
     
      - In Concerns, type a description of the concern.
 
      - Select No or Yes for Caries, Erosion, Disease, and Topical fluoride applied.
 
      - If you selected Yes for Topical fluoride applied, type the name of the provider in the By whom field.
 
      - In Date received, select the date on which the patient received the treatment in the Date received field.
 
     
 
   
 
  - Depending on the patient’s age, do one of the following:
   
    - If the patient is under 5 years of age and still uses a pacifier, select the Uses pacifier check box.
 
    - If the patient is over 5, click Add/Update to open the Dental Caries Risk/Sealants template and document caries risk and sealant details.
 
   
 
  - Click Save & Close.
