Orders

You can add and manage the orders for a patient. You can view, process, manage, add, and place a follow-up order from the Orders panel. It also includes links to process lab and radiology orders, open the Order Management template, open the Immunizations template, open standing orders on the Office Services template, create tasks on the To Do template, and document the education provided to a patient. Orders Panel The View All Orders link is selected by default. The other options to view include Labs, Diagnostics, Office Services, Immunizations Today, Surgical Procedures, Referrals, and Patient Education. You can select a row in the grid and select Edit to open the Orders Edit template, and update the order details. The Education material provided section allows you to provide patient education documents and indicate if they are provided in the patient's preferred language and FDA-approved. Documenting Diagnostic Studies

You can order a diagnostic study on the Diagnostic Studies template. You can place or manage orders for diagnostic studies on the Diagnostic Studies template in the My Plan tabbed template set. You can order the following diagnostic details for the patient's assessments: Add multiple associate diagnosis to an order. Update the diagnoses ordered for the current visit. Document an Order for Diagnostic Studies You can place a diagnostic study order with Bypass Order Module Processing turned on. Associate Multiple Diagnoses with an Order You can document multiple diagnoses with an order in the Associate Multiple Diagnoses to Orders template. Record AUC Data on Diagnostic Procedures You can add or update the AUC data for a diagnostic study in the Review AUC template. Parent topic: My Plan Template

Document an Order for Diagnostic Studies

You can place a diagnostic study order with Bypass Order Module Processing turned on. You can place a diagnostic study order from the Diagnostic Studies template. Note: If Bypass Order Module Processing is not in effect, the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link appears on the Diagnostic Studies template. After you place an order, you must select the Order Module Processing link to choose the vendor and submit the order for processing. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. Open the Intake template, select the specialty as Family Practice and the visit type as Office Visit, and then select My Plan. Select the Diagnostics tab.The Diagnostic Studies template opens. Obstetrics Intake Staff Workflow

You can document the intake information in the Intake template. The intake staff workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves documenting the patient encounter on the Intake, Gestational Age, Histories, and Education templates. The information documented by the intake staff is reviewed by the provider. When you open the Intake template, select Obstetrics and OB Prenatal Initial from the Specialty and Visit Type fields to display the Initial Prenatal template set. The Intake template includes various links to add more information about the patient. Review of Obstetrics Details by Intake Staff The intake staff can review the patient's details documented during the previous encounters. Viewing Links on the Intake Template The links on the Intake template allows you to open the templates where you can document the patient details. Order a Urine Dipstick

You can place an order for a urine dipstick. The Standing Orders link above the Orders grid is commonly used to document the urine dipstick result on prenatal visits. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. Select the Standing Orders link.The Office Services template opens. Select the Display category field and then select an order set from the list. From the Orders grid, select an order. Select a diagnosis for the order. Note: The practice can preset a pregnancy diagnosis for the urine dipstick in the Office Diagnostics practice template. The following example shows the diagnosis for the Urinalysis, non-automated, w/o scope order. Office Services In the Results/Report section, select the Details link. Results/Report section The Urine Dipstick template opens. Urine Dipstick Enter as much information as needed, and then select OK. Note: The glucose, protein, ketones, and nitrites appear in the Prenatal Record document. On the Office Services template,select Place Order.

The Orders panel includes the ability to view, process, manage, add, edit, remove, and/or place a follow-up order. In the Orders panel, you can do the following: Process lab and radiology orders Open the Order Management template Open the Immunizations template Access standing orders on the Office Services template Document patient education Create tasks on the To Do template Orders The View of All Orders link is selected by default. You can also see the other options to view which includes Labs, Diagnostics, Office Services, Immunizations Today, Surgical Procedures, Referrals, and Patient Education. You can also place Allergy testing orders, Prick, ID, or Challenge test, and Allergen Specific IgE test in the Orders panel. Note: Although the Intake template contains the ability to document orders, the provider usually documents orders from the SOAP template.
