Delete an EM Coding Bullet
CAUTION:
You must use caution when deleting rows from the
EM CODING BULLETS
data grid.
On the
E&M Bullets and Field Mapping
system template, access the
EM CODING BULLETS
section.
In the
Edit Fields
grid, select the applicable row.
The
Edit Fields
found above the data grid populates with the selected data.
Click the
Delete
button.
Note:
The
Delete
button is visible only after a row has been selected from the data grid.
The row no longer appears in the data grid.
When you have completed the changes, click the
Apply Changes
button to activate the changes.

Add New EM Coding Bullets
If the CMS Guidelines change or additional EM types are needed, NextGen Healthcare makes updates to the E&M Bullets and Field Mapping template in subsequent releases. If modifications or additions are to be made to the information found on this template, the following instructions describe how to make these changes. On the E&M Bullets and Field Mapping system template, access the EM CODING BULLETS section. To add a new EM coding bullet, do one of the following: In the Edit Fields grid, add a new row by manually entering the data or selecting the options from the drop-down arrows in the edit fields above the grid. Click the Add button. Note: The Add button is visible only when you add information in the fields. The new row appears in the data grid. Add a new row by editing a similar item already listed in the data grid and adding the edited information to the data grid: Select the applicable row in the grid. The Edit Fields found above the data grid populate with the corresponding data.

Update an EM Coding Bullet
On the E&M Bullets and Field Mapping system template, access the EM CODING BULLETS section. In the Edit Fields grid, select the applicable row. The Edit Fields found above the data grid populate with the selected data. After making the necessary changes to the fields above the data grid, click the Update button. Note: The Update button is visible only after a row has been selected from the data grid and new data entered. The selected row displays the new information in the data grid. When you have completed the changes, click the Apply Changes button to activate the changes. Parent topic: EM Coding Bullets

EM Coding Bullets Data Grid
The description of fields listed in the EM CODING BULLETS data grid are: Field Description EM Type The HPI, ROS, History, and Exam Types EM System The category or organ/body system categorization for the specified EM type Description The exact bullet description from the CMS Guidelines EM Bullet ID The unique bullet ID name given to the description Note: : The bullet ID numbering does not necessarily correspond to the order in which the bullets are listed in the CMS Guidelines. The same bullet ID can be used for more than one EM Type. However, the descriptions and corresponding template fields must be exactly the same for all of the EM Types using the same bullet ID. By default, all exams listed in the CMS Guidelines are included when the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine is shipped. Parent topic: EM Coding Bullets

Delete an EM Mapping
On the E&M Bullets and Field Mapping system template, navigate to the EM FIELD MAPS or (Page 3 Fields) section. Select the applicable mapping row in the Edit Fields data grid. Note: You have to select the EM Type and the Table fields whose mapping is to be deleted, if it is not already selected. Click the Delete button. The mapping no longer appears in the data grid. When you have completed the changes, click the Apply Changes button to activate the changes. Parent topic: EM Field Maps Section

EM Coding Bullets
The EM CODING BULLETS or Page 1 (Bullets) section is pre-loaded with all the Evaluation and Management (E & M) Guidelines for all HPI elements, ROS elements, Histories elements, and Exam types found in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The system assigns each element a bullet ID based on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Guidelines. Delete a Template from the EM Table List
On the E&M Bullets and Field Mapping template, navigate to the EM TABLE LIST or Page 4 (Tables) section. In the Table Name grid, highlight the template, you want to delete. When a template is highlighted in the grid, a Delete button appears. Click the Delete button. When you have completed the changes, click the Apply Changes button to activate the changes.
