Open NextGen Enterprise EHR.
Open an encounter for a patient record.
Select the
Care Guidelines
link.
The
Care Guidelines Paged View
window opens.
Select the checkbox and fill in any required fields.
In the
Status
field, select a status from the list.
Note:
Based on the care guideline, some additional information may be required.
In the
Last Completed
field, enter the end date.
The care guideline displays the next due date, status of
complete
, and the date the care guideline was completed.
Select
Save & Close
.

Complete Care Guideline by Custom Service Code Mapping
In File Maintenance, open the Service Items Library. Create a code in the Service Item Library. In the Orderable Test Setup (Protocols) panel on the Care Guidelines Setup template, add the custom service code to the protocol. Orderable Test Setup (Protocols) panel Select Add. Enter, Review, and Update Guideline Status
You can document the details for the patient on the Care Guidelines grid view template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Select a guideline item from the grid. Details for the care guideline fill in the fields. To edit the changes for information appeared for the guideline, do the following: In the Goal field, enter a goal for the patient or select from the list. Select the Status from the list. Select the Action from the list. Note: For guideline items that are ordered, fills in automatically. The Status and Action fields are read-only. Care Guidelines Select Update. The grid displays the updated Status. Note: To see the goal, select the item in the grid to display details in the fields. Edit the Care Guidelines History
You can review or update the care guidelines history using the Care Guidelines History template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the Care Guidelines template or the Activate Care Guidelines template, select the Care Guidelines History link. The Care Guidelines History template opens. To filter tests and exams listed in the grid by status, select Filter by status and select a status from the list. To edit a guideline item, select a row item and select Edit to open the Care Guideline Update template. If you have selected a status or date by mistake, you can clear the values for Last completed date. The guideline item reverts to being due, the Last addressed is cleared, and the Next Due date recalculates. Update the required field and select Save & Close. Note: If the selected guideline record does not belong to the latest encounter, the Edit and Save & Close buttons are read-only. View Care Guidelines
You can view a quick list of the patient's Care Guidelines for due and overdue items. Additionally, you can open the Care Guidelines module to manage Health Maintenance and Disease Management functions, including guideline testing and screening, and recommended care. For more information on Care Guidelines, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Care Guidelines User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. To view a quick list of the patient's Care Guidelines, on the Quick Buttons panel, hover over Care Guidelines Items Due.The Care Guidelines Items Due table appears displaying the last calculated date and a list of recently ordered Care Guidelines items for the patient that are due and overdue. Update the Status or Compliance for a Recommended Care Guideline Item
You can update the status or compliance for a recommended care guideline item for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. Select the Status from the list. Care Guidelines The selected status appears in the Status field. The Compliance list opens automatically. Carecompliance Select compliance reported by the patient from the list. The selected compliance appears below the Status field.
