Psychiatric Workflows

NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite provides the following Psychiatric workflows: Psychiatric Evaluation Psychiatric Progress Notes Psychiatric Notes Document the Patient's Initial Psychiatric Evaluation Summary As a psychiatrist, nurse practitioner (NPP), or other behavioral health professional, you can document an initial psychiatric assessment of the patient. Document the Patient's Psychiatric Progress Note You can document the patient's progress from the psychiatric evaluation. Finalize Documentation The Finalize (BH) template enables you to view today's assessments, today's orders, enter counseling and/or interpreter information, submit E&M codes, or select the No Billing for Service checkbox. Document the Patient's Psychiatric Notes You can document the psychiatric notes about the patient. Track Internal Referrals

You can track internal referrals and generate reports from SAP® Crystal Reports® for each referral. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then select File > System \ Practice Template. Select the Practice tab, and then select All. Open the Referral Tracking (BH) template. In the Referral Orders panel, review the referral orders created from the Referral Management template. Select an order and select Open Chart to open the patient's chart. In the Internal Referral by Provider and Internal Referral by Specialty panels, filter the orders by provider, specialty, and program to review the required orders. To generate the report from SAP® Crystal Reports® of the internal referral, select the required referral order, and then select Print Report. In the Tasks for Internal Referrals panel, filter tasks by their status, review them, and select Print Report to generate the report from SAP® Crystal Reports® for the associated tasks. Document an Internal Referral

You can create internal referrals from one department or team to another. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Open the Referral Management template. Select Internal Referral from the To section.The NG Share option disappears. Additionally, the Internal Referral checkbox is selected automatically for quality reporting purposes. Select a specialty in the Specialty/Therapy/DME field if applicable. Select a program if required. Note: The Program field appears when the Enable Referral Program checkbox is selected in the Orders/Plans > Practice Configuration section of the Practice Configuration template. Select a diagnosis from the available list. Select a reason for the referral and enter comments as applicable. As a behavioral health suite medical professional such as office staff, provider, or nurse responsible for documenting and processing patient information, you can document patient encounters for workflows such as general office visit, surgery scheduling, and patient contact using the templates of NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. Documenting Referral Orders

You can place or manage orders for referrals of other specialists, locations, therapies, and durable medical equipment (DME) in the Referrals Orders or Referral Management template. When a referral includes sensitive attachments, such as documents, NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Document Management images, and SAP® Crystal Reports®, the referral is marked as sensitive. You can change sensitive attachments by using the Referral Attachments template.
