Managing NextGen® Ambient Assist in a Psychiatric Workflow

You can manage the narrative data from NextGen® Ambient Assist to save time during client visits. When you capture a natural conversation with the patient using NextGen® Ambient Assist, the narrative data is saved to the NGMobileDictation template and shared with the Psych Mobile (BH) template. The Psych Mobile (BH) template contains the following sections: HPI ROS Histories Previous Diagnostics Physical Exam Mental Status Exam/Assessment Diagnostic Interpretation Procedure Plan/Additional Information/Discussion Document NextGen Ambient Assist Narrative Information You can document the information present in the narrative fields in the panels shared with the NG Mobile Dictation template. Finalize (BH) Panels

The following table provides a description of the panels available on the Finalize (BH) template. The following table provides a description of the panels available on the Finalize (BH) template. Not all panels are used for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite workflows and some require additional configuration. Panels Description General Displays the patient type (established or new patient) and contact type collected from either the Psych Eval (BH) or Psych Prog Note (BH) template and the PE Type. The values can be edited on this template. It also provides a link to enter information regarding the E&M Guidelines configured for the visit. Today's Assessment Displays the assessment/diagnosis information documented from the Psych Eval (BH) or Psych Prog Note (BH) template. You can view, add, edit, or remove diagnoses from the Today’s Assessment panel. Provider Sign Off Enables you to submit a task to a Supervising provider and to record their review via checkbox. Finalize Documentation

The Finalize (BH) template enables you to view today's assessments, today's orders, enter counseling and/or interpreter information, submit E&M codes, or select the No Billing for Service checkbox. You use the Finalize (BH) template for billing of a psychiatric evaluation. You access the Finalize (BH) template by selecting EM Coding from the Psych Eval (BH) or Psych Prog Note (BH) template. From the Finalize (BH) template, you can view today's assessments, today's orders, enter counseling and interpreter detail information, submit E&M codes, or select the No Billing for Service checkbox. Not all the panels are required for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite workflows. Several panels do require additional configuration. Note: If you need to make changes to the Specialty or Visit Type on the Finalize (BH) template, you must close the Finalize (BH) template and reopen to update the template. Document the Patient's Ambient Progress Note

You can document therapy notes discussed with the patient with minimum manual data entry. You can use the AI-driven therapy workflows to listen to your discussions with the patient, and reuse the notes on the Ambient Progress Note template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the encounter, select Open Template, and then open the Ambient Progress Note (BH) template. In the Time Entry Navigation sidebar, select Billing Time Entry, and then enter the start time. Note: You can select the current time or enter the time manually. Select a program, specialty, and visit type. Select the configured link to open the ambient website in your default browser. Note: You can activate the listening capability in the ambient browser during your discussion with the patient to capture notes automatically. Review and Update Mobile Dictation Data

You can review and update the mobile dictation data documented and sent to NextGen® Enterprise EHR through NextGen® Ambient Assist or any dictation software, such as NextGen® Mobile, NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop, or other third-party solutions.
