Before you begin
Service codes, units, and duration are configured on the Service Code Mapping panel in the BH Foundation Configuration template. If any of these fields are blank, the selected code may not be configured correctly. Your practice administrator must review the configuration. - Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates.
The Select Template window opens.
- On the Medical Records tab, select All.
- Open the billing template, expand the Charges panel, and then enter the start and end times.
Note: If the end time is earlier than the start time, or the duration is more than 12 hours, a message appears to correct the entries.
- In Service Code, select a procedure service code.
Depending on the service code selected, the
Units field appears.
Note: The billing codes are cleared from the fields when you leave the template without saving it.
- To charge for mileage, enter a miles traveled in Mileage.
- Select a Service Code for the mileage charge.
Note: If you enter a mileage service code, enter a service code.
- Select Submit Code.
The code is submitted to the Procedures module.
Note:
- The appointment status is updated when you submit the charges from the BH Suite templates, and the Practice Configuration setting is turned on to update the appointment status.
- If you submit a code that is configured as sensitive on the Practice Configuration template for Sensitive Encounters, the encounter is automatically flagged as sensitive.
- Select Generate Document.
Generating the document removes the client’s name from the Group Members list.
