As a Primary Care Provider (PCP), you can switch between the Behavioral Health templates and Primary Care templates within NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open a PCP template, you need to configure the Program and templates in the BH Foundation Configuration template and client Demographic (BH) template. Open the Packet Navigation (BH) template. In Program, select the program your practice has created for Primary Care. The landing page your practice has configured for the Primary Care program opens. To open a template or document from your Packet Navigation, select the respective link. When the template opens, Behavioral Health is the default specialty and General Medical Exam is the default visit type. In Specialty and Visit Type, select the appropriate option from the list. Optional: To open additional primary care templates, use the tabs and sub-navigation links. Note: If you use the BH Packet Navigation to change templates, the system updates the Specialty and Visit Type from Primary C

Behavioral Health Packet Navigation

On Packet Navigation, a program-specific landing page, your staff can group commonly used templates and documents for easy access. You can also configure tabs and navigation links that can be accessible from a packet navigation. Tabs and navigation links offer additional shortcuts to provide quick access to streamline workflow. The landing pages, or Packet Navigation, are configured on the BH Configuration Foundation template. There are three types of landing pages that you can configure: Packet Navigation enables you to create a program-specific landing page that contains commonly used templates and documents for a selected program. Packet Navigation window The Intake Prescreen (BH) template is a configurable packet that is used to launch templates and documents that are commonly used during your intake and prescreen process. Document Crisis Treatment Plan Details

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select Crisis Treatment Plan (BH), and then select OK. Note: You can open the Crisis Treatment Plan (BH) template from your Packet Navigation or you can open the template from the Templates module. For more information on configuring Packet Navigation, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Configuration Guide for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. In the Time Entry Navigation sidebar, select Billing Time Entry, and then enter the start time. Note: You can select the current time or enter the time manually. Select the program, specialty, and visit type. Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later. Document the patient's relationship details with the support resources. Document

Document the Patient's Personal Belongings

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select Personal Belongings (BH), and then select OK. Note: You can open the Personal Belongings (BH) template from your Packet Navigation or from the Templates module. For more information on configuring Packet Navigation, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Configuration Guide for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. Select a program. In the Personal Belongings panel, select the Personal Belongings link to document the patient's personal possessions with the details. The record appears in the grid. Note: You can filter the list of items by their status and the admission category. Document the required signature attestations on the collected belongings. Document the Medication Prescriber Details for the Patient

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select MAR Prescribers (BH), and then select OK. Note: You can open the MAR Prescribers (BH) template from your Packet Navigation, or from the Templates module. For more information on configuring Packet Navigation, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Configuration Guide for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. Select the program, specialty, and visit type. Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later. Select the medication from the active list and update the stop dates. Document Details of the Patient's Time-Sensitive Events

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Templates. The Select Template window opens. Select Demographics, and then select All. Select IDD Important Dates (BH), and then select OK. Note: You can open the IDD Important Dates (BH) template from your Packet Navigation or from the Templates module. For more information on configuring Packet Navigation, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Configuration Guide for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. Select an event. Enter a brief description of the event. Select the status of the event. Select the event date and time. Select the alert you want to receive before the event date. Note: For information on alerts, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Alerts Module Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Add To Grid. The event details appear in the grid.
