Add or Modify a Patient's Program

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select Open Template for an encounter.The Select Template window opens. Select the Demographics tab. Select All, and then select Demographics (BH).The Demographics (BH) template opens. In the Programs section under the Programs/COT/Treatment Adherence panel, select Level of Care, and then select an option from the list. Do one of the following: To add a program, select Add. To modify a program, select the program in the Programs grid and then select Update. To add additional programs, select Clear For Add. The tis_programs_hx window opens. Programs HX window Enter program, location, provider, open date, time, and payer information. If the patient has more than one payer, add each one. Note: You must complete the Program, Location, Open Date, and Payer fields before saving a program. Select Save. Program Configuration

You can also configure the following program-related options to help your clinical process: Set program-specific Packet Navigation. Set default values for Specialty and Visit Type by program. Display the Specialty and Visit Type fields on templates by program. Make payer details as required during the client's program enrollment. Set program-specific Goals and Objectives in the patient's ISP. When a new encounter is created, the Select a Program window displays all programs the client is enrolled in. The program list displays only the current enrollment of clients on the date of the selected encounter. If a program is not available in the picklist, you must add a program for the client or ensure the existing program's open and close dates coincide with the selected encounter date. After selecting a program, the encounter is automatically updated based on your practice and program configurations. Update Tabs for a Program, Practice, or Location

Open the BH Foundation Configuration template. Select the required Program, Practice, or Location. Expand the Tabs & Sub Navigation panel.The tabs configured for the selected program, practice, or location appear in the Tabs grid. Select the item in the grid.The details of the tabs appear in the respective fields. Set Up Tabs for a Program, Practice, or Location

Open the BH Foundation Configuration template. Select a program.The configured tabs apply only to the selected program. BH Foundation Configuration template To make the configuration that is specific to a Practice or Location, select Practice or Location. Expand the Tabs & Sub Navigation panel. In Caption, enter the text to display on the tab. In Template, select the template to link to the tab. Note: You can add up to six tabs. To clear all data from the fields before saving, select Clear. Select Add.After the tabs are configured, you can open the tabs across the top of the client’s medical chart when the configured program is selected. Open PCP Content

As a Primary Care Provider (PCP), you can switch between the Behavioral Health templates and Primary Care templates within NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open a PCP template, you need to configure the Program and templates in the BH Foundation Configuration template and client Demographic (BH) template. Open the Packet Navigation (BH) template. In Program, select the program your practice has created for Primary Care. The landing page your practice has configured for the Primary Care program opens. To open a template or document from your Packet Navigation, select the respective link. When the template opens, Behavioral Health is the default specialty and General Medical Exam is the default visit type. In Specialty and Visit Type, select the appropriate option from the list. Optional: To open additional primary care templates, use the tabs and sub-navigation links. Note: If you use the BH Packet Navigation to change templates, the system updates the Specialty and Visit Type from Primary C

Miscellaneous Configurations for BH Templates

Enable Specialty/Visit Type to be configured by Program When selected, the Specialty and Visit type fields appear on the BH templates in the client’s chart according to the default values set on the BH Content panel.
