Configuring Floor Level Medication Inventory

You can use the Floor Level Medication Inventory panel on the MAR Configuration (BH) template to view and manage the floor medication inventory for the entire practice. In the grid, you can monitor current inventory levels. You can select the Active option to view all active medications and the Inactive option to view all inactive medications. Floor Level Medication Inventory panel Updates to the floor level medication inventory are made on the Floor Medication Inventory (BH) window, which is accessed by the Update Inventory button in the Floor Level Medication Inventory panel. Additional security rights are required to add or modify the client's medication inventory. Security rights are set up in System Administrator. If you do not have security rights to access the Floor Medication Inventory (BH) window, you should contact your practice administrator. Create Medication Taper Schedules

You can create, modify, and delete dosing tapers in the Medication Taper Schedules panel. Tapers are specific to the medication line. You must configure multiple tapers for medications with multiple doses. On the MAR Configuration (BH) template, expand the Medication Taper Schedules panel. Select a taper name. Note: The Taper Name picklist displays the list as configured in the BH Content panel on the BH Foundation Configuration template. Select a medication. The MEDID field displays the medication ID for the selected medication. In Day, enter the number of days to administer the medication. For example, if a medication is given twice a day for three days, a taper record for each day and time (day 1, day 2, day 3, time 1, and time 2) is created for a total of six taper entries. In the Med Time field, enter the time of day to administer the medication. Optional: To remove data from all of the fields, select Clear All. Select Add New. Add a Medication Dose

The picklist on the MAR Administration (BH) template has a 1X Now option. This value is hardcoded and you cannot configure or remove the value. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens with the system-related templates. Select the Practice tab, and then select All. A list of all the practice templates appears. Select MAR Configuration (BH), and then select OK. The MAR Configuration (BH) template opens. Expand the Medication Dose Times panel. In Med Dose (Sig), enter a name for the medication dose. Note: This can be any description up to 20 characters in length. In the Med Time fields, enter the times for the doses. Note: You can specify up to six medication dose times. Optional: To clear the fields, select Clear All. Select Add. Update a Medication Dose

The picklist on the MAR Administration (BH) template has the 1X Now option. This value is hardcoded and cannot be configured or removed. Open the MAR Configuration (BH) template. Expand the Medication Dose Times panel. Select a record in the grid. The details appear in the respective fields. Modify the required details, and then select Update. Add Medications to the Floor Inventory

You can use the Floor Level Medication Inventory (BH) window to add floor-level medications entered for the selected client. You can filter the medication grid by Location, Lot, Active or Inactive medications. On the MAR Configuration (BH) template, expand the Floor Level Medication Inventory panel. Select Update Inventory. The Floor Medication Inventory (BH) window opens. Floor Medication Inventory window Note: If you do not have security rights to open the Patient Medication Inventory (BH) window, an alert appears and does not open the window. In Medication, select a medication from the picklist. Note: Only medications that are added to providers’ favorites list are displayed. If no medications are displayed, you can add medications to any provider’s favorites list. Enter the lot number, expiry date, and location for the selected medication.
