Before you begin
You must have additional security rights assigned in System Administrator to add or modify the client's medication inventory. If you do not have security rights to access the Patient Medication Inventory (BH) window, contact your practice administrator.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates.
The Select Template window opens.
- On the Medical Records tab, select All.
- Select MAR Administration (BH), and then select OK.
Note: You can open the
MAR Administration (BH) template from your Packet Navigation or from the Templates module. For more information on configuring Packet Navigation, go to
NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the
Configuration Guide for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite.
- Select the program, specialty, and visit type.
Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later.
- In the Medication Scheduling panel, schedule the patient's medications from the active medication list.
- In the Medication Administration panel, process the patient's medications scheduled for the current date.
The processed medications appear in the Meds Administered Today grid.
- To reverse a medication for any error rectification, select the medication in the Meds Administered Today grid, and then select Reverse.
The
MAR Admin Reverse window opens displaying the status as
Reversed and the updated quantity. Also, the
Medication Inventory grid displays the updated quantity for the reversed medication.
Note: The View Reversed Meds filter appears if any medications are reversed. You can select the View Reversed Meds filter to see the list of medications that are reversed.
- To see the complete list of the patient's medication history, select Full Medication Hx.
The Medication Administration History window opens. You can select filters to refine and print the list for the administered and reversed medications.
- Generate the document of the complete medication administration history.
- In the Medication Inventory panel, select Update Inventory to modify the patient's existing medication inventory.
