Use the Help menu to access a variety of help resources for using and managing the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare. It also provides some support for Mirth® Connect. The dashboard displays information about your appliance and its current state. In the Mirth Appliance Dashboard, you can view information that is useful for monitoring how the system is operating. Some of the information is also necessary when contacting NextGen Healthcare Support. To open the Mirth Appliance Dashboard, select System > Dashboard.The Mirth Appliance Dashboard displays information about your appliance and its current state in the following four sections: System Status displays version information for the Control Panel, for components, and for applications installed on the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare. Deployment Considerations

The flexibility of the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare enables a variety of deployment options. NextGen Healthcare provides recommendations for planning the placement of your appliance. Using DMZ for External Access If the appliance is used for connectivity to sources outside your organization’s private network, NextGen Healthcare recommends that the unit be placed into a DMZ network. Bridging Disconnected Network Segments A Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare with multiple Ethernet interfaces can be used as a message firewall to bridge otherwise disconnected networks. Opening Network Ports Through a Firewall When operating your hardware through a firewall, it is necessary to allow some network traffic to pass so that certain features of the appliance can function properly.

A Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare provides a stable, secure, and scalable healthcare messaging platform. Your Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare includes commercial support and a management control panel to run Mirth® Connect for your organization's health information technology messaging. Note: You should install the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare behind a firewall. For more information about Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare and firewalls, see Deployment Considerations. With the Command Center plug-in, an interface is available, that allows you to manage your Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare environment with Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare Command Center. You can register, unregister, and sync your Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare environment with the Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare Command Center using this interface. The Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare Command Center does the following: Provides deep integration for web-based command and control of your Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare environments. Supports detailed analytics and monitoring of your Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare environments. Provides more capabilities and services with Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare environments that are using Mirth Platform extensibility, through additional Command Center sub-extensions.
