.The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is part of the Internet protocol suite as defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). SNMP is used in network management systems to monitor network-attached devices for conditions that warrant administrative attention. It consists of a set of standards for network management, including an application layer protocol, a database schema, and a set of data objects.
SNMP exposes management data in the form of variables on the managed systems, which describe the system configuration. These variables can then be queried (and sometimes set) by managing applications. SNMP version 2c is required when you want to retrieve monitoring information from the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare.
With SNMP, you can monitor information about your Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare, such as network utilization, memory usage, and Mirth® Connect channel activity. This monitoring is accomplished by importing the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare Management Information Base (MIB) into an SNMP browser or your existing SNMP monitoring tool. To download the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare MIB from your appliance, select .
This SNMP Service Configuration window enables you to set the community string used to access the SNMP server.
