Anesthesia units by category can be viewed for each charge on an encounter from the Transactions sub-tab on the Encounters tab of the Patient Chart.
Access Patient Chart for the desired patient.
Select the Encounters tab.
From the list of encounters on the left, select the desired encounter.
Select the Transactions sub-tab.
To display a list of columns available for viewing on the Transactions sub-tab, right-click on any column heading.
Columns names in the list that are included in the view display with a check mark icon.
The following anesthesia units columns are available:
Base Units: Displays base units defined for the anesthesia SIM code.
Time Units: Displays time units calculated for the anesthesia charge.
Modifier Units: Displays additional units added by modifiers or Anesthesia QC SIM codes.
Total Anesthesia Units: Displays Base Units + Time Units + Modifier Units.
To add a column to the view (no check mark), select on the column name.
To remove a column from the view (with check mark), select on the column name.
Repeat steps 5 - 7 to add or remove columns as desired.
When the Total Anesthesia Units column is included in the transactions view, the Encounter Total Anes Units also displays in the Encounter Financial Summary section at the bottom of the Transactions sub-tab. This is a total of all anesthesia units for all charges on the encounter.
